Weird heat incident

Had my car crusing along today. heat set to 80. All of a sudden I felt hot air in my face and cold air at my feet. Sure enough, stuck my hand under tha dash and ice cold air coming out. Turned heat off, back on, it was heat. Cracked the window open and cold air coming from vent. Pulled over, closed window, turned off heat. Turned it back on and everything seems to be fine.

Anyone ever seen such a thing?

Not in my car. The heat always adjusts perfectly. It has happened in my hubby's car though! Since it has the dual vent adjustments also, in his car everytime you change the setting, it either gets too chilly or too warm. It never stays at the same heating or cooling level either. Weird...

I agree. In my '04 72 was the perfect setting for Summer and Winter. In my '07, I find that at 72 in the heating season, the car gets too warm wearing the same jackets etc, and in the Summer 72 is not cool enough, and often I have to manually increase the fan speed as well. Th '04 did a better job of regulating the cabin temperature in all weather particularly those days that were not quite cold in the Winter & Fall, and not quite hot in the Spring & Summer. I don't think the HVAC System is any different, but I do think the "logic" or programming of the controller is different.

Mention DTB P-B-83.00/109 - EDAC (Enhanced Diagnostic Assistance Center) program started 10/22/07 inclusive of a Netstar Climate Control Diagnostic Guide. The tech should conduct an accurate assessment of the problem by using the diagnostic guide.

Thanks! I'm getting alot of weird little issues lately that pop up and go away. First my radio, now my heat. Nothing major, just enough to be mildly annoying. I'm guessing that it's SW related like you guys say but man the car is quirky.

Yup! Will be addressed when I get a chance to get it back to the dealer.
And speaking of weird issues, I'm still having a problem with rattling from the moon roof's sliding cover.

My driver side center vents send warm air at 72 degrees when cold outside and cold air from the passenger side center vents at the same settings. Going back to dealer. This is the second time. They thought they fixed it once.

Does the advanced diagnostic you mentioned cover a W211.026 (2005?)
