tectite w/ stone or charcoal?

have any of you seen tectite/stone or tectite/charcoal e500s?
My build date is in December and I have to pick between these two color schemes. I originally picked tectite/charcoal, but the charcoal upholstery with ash pillars & headliner bothers me. Any comments or photos would be appreciated

I have seen both and you can see by my signature below what I have on order. The car I have seen several tiems was tectite/charcoal, which I though looked great. But since I ordered the Sport package, I thought that the black wood would look particualrly good with the lighter ash interior. Don't think you can go wrong with either choice - without the sport package i might have gone more with charcoal.

I have seen tectite/stone and it looks terrific. The contrast is wonderful. I don't think there is a bad choice, though.

I love my stone interior but it will be hard to keep clean and maintain IMO. Even so I'd probably get stone again since I like it better than the other choices.

753/831 is the best color combo. IMO, there is too much contrast between stone and tectite.

Where can I find the codes for each color?

agree with abhansali - I have also seen the Pewter and Tectite with stone - beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but I don't think it works - one is a silver shade, one is a beige shade. If you are going to get Tectite get it with charcoal or ash.

I also have stone interior, w/ Desert Sand ext, my personal choice. And I share your concern regarding maintenance. Do you (or others) have recommendations on protecting the carpet, other than using all-weather mats and the old Scotch guard spray method?

Briar, you will just have to be ultra careful and arm yourself with an adequate supply of carpet and leather cleaners.

Originally, I was thinking of Pewter and Stone, but gave up the idea because it looks like it would be very hard to keep looking pristine. Smudges show up really easy on Stone.

One look at the dealer's demo and I was convinced. Ended up with my usual choice of Brilliant Silver and Ash for my E500 with sport package.

Agree with you Pat a! I was in a dilemma myself as to choice of interior to go with Pewter. I eliminated charcoal immediately because the black birdseye maple wood trim just complete blends in with the black interior.

Between Stone and Ash, it appears that Stone blend better with Pewter, but one look at how the dealer's demo looked, I was convinced Stone was too difficult to keep looking pristine.

I gave up on Pewter and ordered Brilliant Silver instead with Ash interior which should look great with the contrasting black birdseye maple wood trim.

I have chosen the Pewter and Stone combo because from past experience I have been able to devote a fair bit of time to the cleaning of my cars and am confident of keeping it clean.

IMHO I like the look of Stone with Pewter better than Ash but is it much easier to look after the Ash interior than the Stone?

They both look very delicate to me.

I drove a tectite with stone and I didn't like the way it looked. I have seen tectite with ash and charcoal and either looks great.

Benggolf, yout ook the words right of my mouth. I thought the charcoal interior was great looking, but with the black birdseye maple, it gets swallowed up in the interior. And I think the black wood is what really makes the sports package interior special.

Apparently Mercedes Benz agrees, since the picture of the Sports package interior in the E class brochure shows the ash interior.

I also think the black birds eye maple wood steering wheel will add a lot to the interior Sports package - I pushed my MB regional rep pretty hard to get this since it was not orderable at the time - I assume it is now.

Helps if you can go actually see it at a dealer. When I ordered my car I had the luxury of actually looking at several cars on hand at the dealer with various combinations.

Actually I like the black birds eye and the charcoal. You are right, it doesn't jump out. I kind of like that.
