Porsche Cayenne Kill On My Way Home!!

I live in downtown Chicago...Was driving home from work just now and when I got off 90 to get onto Ohio Street I booked *** across three lanes and raced across the bridge towards the intersection about 3/4 of a mile away...No later than after I had started accelerating a white Cayenne Turbo pulled behind me and I just kept gaining distance (got up to XXXmph before I started to brake and create distance between us and the traffic ahead - try to stay safe too)...I'd say I gained 4-7 (it was dark and mirrors distort distance) car lengths after close to a quarter mile....We proceeded into the city, up LaSalle and onto Chicago where I stopped and talked to the guy...There was no half-assing about this, we were both shifting "manually", holding brake at red lights to launch etc...He said he had a chip in the thing and I completely believe him...I let him pass at one point to hear the thing and it seriously scared me, the thing screams...(by the way, I'm laughing my *** off too right now, didn't expect it but it's the truth)

Am I off base or is this even possible? The guy was definitely at open throttle the whole time, so was I, but I only have an E-350 4-Matic???

Nonetheless the **** got my adrenaline up and I forgot about my day at work so it was well worth it and thats all that matters...

BTW...I felt my pulse and calculated 184BPM after the whole thing...Wish I could race cars for a living..

Nice ! I started playing with a Blue 335i on my way home today. We were doing pretty good until he started taking it too seriously and started to zig-zag between cars going 80+ to loose me. I found that to be a little irresponsible and dangerous towards the other drivers on the road so I just hung back and blended in with the rest of the traffic. I know what you mean; nothing washes away a hard day's work then hearing your engine rev up and having a little fun

That's a slow Cayenne Turbo. Too slow in fact. I think the Cayenne Turbo is a second faster in the 1/4 mile.

If u're at stock levels, u only have 270 hp and 260ft/lbs torque. The Cayenne Turbo has 500 hp and 516ft/lbs torque, and does 0-60 in 4.9 seconds. Either he has a fake "turbo" badge on his Porsche, like you have an AMG hood badge on your non-AMG car, or he is one hell of a bad driver.

If indeed his was the turbo version, he should have KILLED you.

enjoy the taste of the kill.... but my cayenne turbo would have eaten my E500 for lunch... and I eat E350s for lunch with my E500... so the guy must have had his wife with him... that definitely takes a second off of a 1/4 mile ....

A stock WRX STI is easily a low 13 second car. An E500 will have trouble, but I think the STI tires out in the triple digits.

I think you were wise to not tangle with a 335i. Those things are FAST!

Yeah the 335i was amazingly nimble but I was doing just fine keeping up. The reason why I backed off because traffic was getting denser and he didn't seem to mind cutting people off just to get away from me me; he did one too many "dick moves" for me to back off before someone got hurt or ran off the road.

The 335i wasn't trying at all.

Nice But yeah; I think without traffic I would have gone home with my tail between my legs.

a Cayenne Turbo is a 13 second truck. Not sure of the 60 mph time, but I'm betting he could have taken you for sure.
