Any Brake Dust remedies?
This car is Black on Black with Black Bird's Eye Maple. It's tough to keep clean, but I just love the way it looks.
Just looking for some creative cleaning ideas for the wheels.
Thanks, Stan

I agree with Spilok that the brake dust is significant, and noticeable after as little as 30 miles of driving. Is there any other type of brake pad, such as PBR, that can be used in place of the OEM pads? I've had great luck with PBR (formerly Repco) on BMWs -- virtually no brake dust.
Learning to live with the dust is part of learning to be a Mercedes (or BMW) owner.
Yes, I know Consumer Reports considers this a quality defect.
I'm a believer. I'll trade the small difference in initial bite for vastly decreased brake dust accumulation - right until someone can provide proof that the OEM pads reduce stopping distance over after market pads.

I tried all my cleaning tricks, but finally gave up and found a new car take off set of 07 18" CLS 5 spoke wheels last November. They are very easy to clean, look totally at home on the E, and really do the car justice visually.
Something to consider.
Granted, they aren't MBz...or for that matter: not made in Germany, but for the money (and looks) they're excellent.

I owned several BMWs with no brake dust. The key is to replace the brake pads with PBR (formerly Repco). They produce no dust or squeel, and brake as well as the OEMs. If you have a BMW, I would recommend them. I don't see that they're available for MB, though.
I found these Axxis ceramic pads for the front of an E350 for $118 per set. The rears seem to dust very little, so I might just swap out the fronts.
