Display screen flicker

Does anybody else's do this? When I am driving and the Audio screen is up, the screen blacks out for a second and then comes back on. It does this a few times every few minutes or so. Does anybody else's do this?

There is a traffic light about 10 miles from my house that I seem to catch every morning. At least once a month or so when I stop at this light, my headlights and interior lights will dim for a moment, much less than 1 second.

Since it is not reproducible and doesn't last more than a moment, I've never reported it to the dealer and it hasn't gotten any worse and I have more than 176,000 miles on my E320.

Yes, it is for a millisecond. Not a big deal.

Well, I come from the school of thought were a flicker is a symptom of a larger problem to come. Like a xenon bulb, it flickers once in a while and then finally it goes out.

Same thing happens to me. I'm gonna ask them to take a look at it next time I'm in for service.

It seems as though your head unit is attempting reset, mention DTB P-B-82.60/382b to have your COMAND head unit software updated under warranty.

In addition to correcting the malfunction, you will gain the following features:
- Navigation voice can be muted with MUTE button
- ETA (distance & time) displayed below
- Telephone signal strength in status line during active route guidance
- System reliability & reset fixes
