Deals? I doubt it...

I ordered my SL55 via MB of Palm Beach (at MSRP). My dealer was Lee Ross..

Not the most knowledgeable salesperson I have met. I will be spending $129,000 on the vehicle, he better have the answers to my questions, or at least know how to obtain them.

He is cordial, but is not "overly" excited to be selling me the SL55. I also feel as though he I am not taken seriously. I assume my age (27) is the reason as he is within a few years of me. Who knows.

I encourage you to read through AutoSpies (past and present) to find any hidden rebates before going to the dealership.

I think your experience is common, SL55AMG.
I've certainly had the same experience at my dealer.
Unless you're 55 or over, there seems to be this aloof attitude these guys have (and I've spoken with at least 8 or 9 of the dealers over the past few years), and I've heard the same complaint from buyers in other markets as well.

What is Four Seasons hotel chain's calling card?
Service.
Anything, anytime, just name it and it's done.
It makes people feel good about staying there and creates loyalty.
You'd think that dropping $100,000 would elicit some genuine service oriented, Four Seasons type attitude.
Not the case at my dealer.
And I let others know about it whenever the topic arises.

This happens everywhere. I went to a used car dealer once and they were reluctant to help me at first. When they saw I was serious about making a deal, their attitudes took a drastic change. The dealers that know how to do business will never act that way. They will treat you with respect throughout the whole process from the minute you walk in the door.

Welcome to Mercedes! lol

Come on, we get better treatment at Lexus when all we do is play around with them! Same with Honda. They just love us! I think it has something to do with pullin up in the benz tho! W/ lexus we can go in our LS400 and they treat us like we are kings! Maybe its by dealer but Mercedes down here sucks unless you have mulitple cars from them. Unfortunetly if we knew this we would have used one salesguy! lol.

I don't know if its something u find specifically in the US but here in Europe even when buying a 'cheap' 35k C200 sports coupe the sales are very nice and make you feel important etc....
I guess if you buy a 100k car in a dealer where they sell mostly million dollar cars they aren't gonna care much !!
I totally despise arrogant people

My experience with Lee Ross and Palm Beach MB was not that great..Purchased a E class from him in 2000 and gave him a deposit on a new SL. At that time, I was told I was # 13 on Palm Beaches SL List..When the cars started arriving, I was now # 47 and Lee said I was # 14 on His list....I found a car at another dealership and he has now lost my future Biz...
