Ok guys, my car has not arrived, but see what we got!!!!!!
My car is on the water and will be here 1/3/03, but on the meantime, see what Santa has broght.

Crazy4Cars, the SL is absolutely fabulous. Much better wheels than on the US standard SL55 wheels. However, in the immortal words of Crazy4Cars, when?????? (The picture is an E500 sport package Ash interior with the black bird's eye maple trim and wheel. The MBUSA site indicates that charcoal/walnut wood wheels are an accessory for the SL55, I don't know why they wouldn't make the black bird's eye maple for it too):

Floor Mats
Are those the standard floor mats? My floor mats do not have the "finger" of carpet that rides up on the footrest where the driver would put his left foot.

I ahd to jump through hops to get the wood wheel on my car - the wood wheel does come in either of the two types of wood, the four interior colors, and the heat/no-heat version as well.

KShortill: I searched to find a pic of a black bird's eye maple wheel on the forum so I don't know about the floor mats. I do wonder why the driver's side doesn't have a piece to cover the left foot "rest" area. Jeff

Jhb: I just checked my AMG floormats for my W211 and they indeed come with the piece to cover the footrest, therefore I think that the Euro floomats are made like that. I also know that all floormats for US cars are made in the US and maybe that's why they come without it. I do remember when I had my W210 that the mats that came with the car had it but the mats that I got in the states didn't.

Thanks Crazy4Cars. Any possibility you might get a wood wheel for the SL55? That black bird's eye maple might be nice but I am not sure it is available. We have the launch edition SL with a wood wheel and the wood wheel really finishes it off nicely. I realize you have aluminum trim (our neighbor has the exact color combination you have I think in his SL55 and it is really sharp. The only difference is that he has the "million spoke" wheels which I do not like nearly as much as yours!!). Anyway, enjoy it and stay out of trouble, if that is possible with 500 HP.
