Cornering fog lamps
I am trying to test if I have cornering fog lamps or not. Can someone explain me how to test this feature?
Do 03 w211 have this feature?

Easy, pull your car up to a window (so you can see the reflection). Turn your steering wheel to the left. Does the left fog lap illuminate? If it does you have cornering fog lamps!

My 2004 E500 has Bi-Xenons. When I was at the dealer recently, I asked the SF to attempt to activate or turn on my active cornering lights via STAR Diagnostics. He tried and was unable to do so. He said that, for them to be operational, motors have to be present in the fixtures for that feature to work.
As everyone can see, I am a Newbie. Is that the way this system works?
(Now I find that, in an attempt to provide information as regards this thread, I've only succeeded in posing another question. Newbie to the core; but thanks to you all for your spoon-feeding.)

OK, my bad.
The system the SF and I were trying to activate was the Actve Bi-Xenons, in which case motors for the lights (and movement, if I understand correctly) are required. I made a "Newbie" mistake by including it in the "Cornering fog lamps" thread.
Anything, systems-wise, that is more enlightening than the previous response would be greatly appreciated by this "Newbie".

I had an '04, and even tho it was supposed to have active cornering Bi Xenon headlights, it did not, due to them being out of stock when the car went down the assembly line. I got Bi Xenons, but they were not active & didn't move.

Certain Mr. Seller here might have concluded there is a big malfunction on the fogs if only one of them comes on at that case.

Cornering fog lamps became available on the ‘06 CLS, offered in the non-AMG lighting package then carried into the ’07 E-Class.
If you do not have the Premium 2 package for ’07 or ’08 E-Class (i.e.: no bi-xenon) it is possible to have your dealer activate the cornering fog light feature even though they are not designed for such. The feature will not operate exactly as intended less mechanism nevertheless cornering illumination will be functional. Depending on your relationship with your dealer, request goodwill activation by having the tech version code both front signal acquisition modules through SDS to permit the use of cornering fog lamps. I had this done on my CLS (not equipped with lighting package) shortly after taking delivery and the feature does make a difference on dark roads.
