Will the 08 Sports Pack wheels fit my 06 E350 (225s on 16" Stock) ?

Thanks folks

Uh oh... I went with a staggered set of stock E55 dbl spokes to replace my stock 235/45/17 on my 03' 320 sport and Ive warranty to 100K to March 2011.
If the staggered set up compromises my warranty I will have to shop around and go back to the 17" 235/45/17 set up all around

Would you happen to have the English/US link so that I may validate this?

Thanks Untertürkheim! Whew...I think...
So, I was looking at a copy of my VMI to look for any callout with regards to specific "sport suspension" . The only remote "sport" or possible suspension enhnancement references found were:
Opt# Desc.
---- -------
633 5 spoke 17" lt alloy wheels
772 AMG bodystyling ( I take this is more cosmetic, ie. "sport" badge on sid molding, subtle flare to side skirts, black birdseye wood trim, white instrument dials, ?)
489 Airmatic DC
By virtue the car having the 17" wheel option from the factorr, would this default to the car having been built with a sport suspension?
Thanks for the advise!

Also, since the car was built with 17" wheels, it has to be equipped properly from the factory.
I looked at the suspension while the car was on the ground and don't see why a change would be necessitated. I'm also not finding parts for the strut bump stop (stopper) that differentiate based on sport/airmatic/standard suspension.
I do note that the ball joint for the upper control arm rides suspiciously close to the wheel, so a tire diameter issue may be suspect but a 245/40-18 tire is actually shorter in O.D. than a 225/55-18. Would the more aggressive body roll associated with a 18" tire under hard cornering suggest this bolt may contact the tire if the suspension travel were not decreased, but I doubt this is the issue. I could only see major issue if the car were to completely bottom out (force due to perhaps jumping the car) but again, this issue would be more prevalent with the factory wheel (taller) than with the aftermarket wheel.
...so to sum it all up, I don't get it.

I believe it is the strut bushing.
You need to run your VIN to see which suspension codes you have.
If you look at the document
http://www.mercedes-benz.de/content/...ne_Typ_211.pdf
you can see two different part numbers based on the original suspension.

thanks
245/40-18 has less overall diameter than 225/55-16 but the sidewalls won't mushroom as much under heavy load either, so there is potential that under full force the 245/40-18 tire is effectively taller. When I find out, I'll let you know.
The summary of the article Untertürkheim posted (and I definitely thank him for that!) basically says we'll need to change the bump stop inside our struts to limit the suspension travel. If you plan on upgrading shocks/springs later, this is not a major issue.
By any chance are you located in the bay area, CA?
