I know that a lot of people like the wood and I'm sure it looks very nice, but isn't it slick when driving the car spiritedly? I'd think I would need driving gloves. Don't your hands slide off the thing? Thick and grippy seems to be the best thing for a tiller....imho, of course

Very luxurious feel in your hands. And there's still plenty of leather around the wheel in the areas you grip when driving agressively. The top & bottom areas of wood are really where you just rest/hang your hand when cruising.

I guess I just don't have long enough arms nor can I twist my body to always hold the tiller at a 3 and 9 position. Wood to me is also cold and hard, too. Oh, well, each to their own. At least we have choices!

shimmers, could you send me a few pictures of the steering wheel you have? im actually interested. the guy who sold me my e550 told me that since i had heated steering wheel, he wasnt able to give me a steering that had wood. im pretty sure he just made that up is it true? anyway im interested in the steering wheel!

For 07 E550 it used the same wheel for W209 and W219 and R230
