I had a 2001 CLK430 and loved it but always craved the CLK55 but alas my bank account couldn't afford it at that time. Actually if you didn't know anything about MB's you probably would not know the difference. However, throwing an AMG badge on the rear deck just made me squirmy because I just felt I was lying to myself...but that is me.

I just bided my time and worked my **** off to get to the point where I could afford an MB that already had the AMG badge coming from the factory. That doesn't make me better than anyone else...it just means we have different standards.

Thanks for the compliments. I love my E500. I purchased it, not because I couldn't afford the E55, but because I was just getting out of a 400hp supercharged car, and really thought the E55 would be overkill in my bumper to bumper commute. In hindsight, I wish I would've just gotten it.

Here's a few recent pictures from a track event....notice that there's no Kompressor or AMG badge anywhere. And if anyone could pass their car off as an AMG, it'd be me. But I don't believe in badge engineering.

I love this thread.

Benz-0-Rama - your E looks great.

This thread reminds me of one on a Porsche site I frequent. A misguided fellow spent crazy money trying to make his Carrera 2S look like a GT3-RS.

Wing, badges, stickers, wheels - all on a freakin' auto-tranny narrow body.

Wrong on so many levels! The car was just flamed and shamed to the point where it was never heard from again and went to eBay.

I'm not saying that Benz-O-Rama is wrong, i understand what he is saying. I don't have an AMG badge on my car. I had an AMG badge on my car for about two weeks, then removed it since i prefered the clean look on the back that it had all along.

On a side note, who won Road March? Super Blue (Faye-Ann)? Destra? Machel Montano?

Had so much fun down there, playing J'ouvert.

Tell you what. Take pictures of your "AMG" car and post it in the AMG section of this forum. Let's see what kinds of responses you get.
You make a great point there Benz-O-Rama, I agree with you, My car has similar setup with some AMG accessories. I have an AMG badge which used to be on my car but after understanding you reasoning, i won't reconsider putting it back on

But then again, look at the country i live in. barely anyone knows what AMG is

Quick question
How easy was it to do that quad exhaust conversion?
i had a friend that did it with two
Its not easy to find mechanics that would do a good job over here

Not sure. I kinda got my fill when I was there. You fackers are crazy, man.

I played with Red Ants for J'ouvert and also went to Bacchanal, Insomnia, and one big fete up in the hills up towards Maracas Bay. The only real big fete I didn't go to was the one at Brian Lara's.

But had a great time overall.

It's not hard, just expensive. Need to purchase the OEM E55 exhaust, and an OEM E63 rear bumper. Then have the bumper painted and installed, then have the exhaust hung.

It can get pricey.

some cars have it down here but the worksmanship on it is terrible. Some of the mufflers hang too low, one higher than the other. What about cutting the current bumper? A friend of mine did that and fitted the exhaust tips in. it looks perfect but its the only good one I've seen done down here.
This is whats holding me back from having it done
