'08+ Style Rearview Mirrors - Cost?
Hey guys,
Can anyone tell me how much the new style rearview mirrors cost from the dealer?
Thanks,
Tom

Oh, sorry for the mix up guys, it was pretty late when I posted that.
When I said '08 I just meant the style on the current w211.
I apologise for any confusion. :-(
Regards,
Tom

From the dealer,They run about $400+ each. I modified my e320 to look like the 07+ "facelift" version and was thinking about changing the mirrors as well but decided not to because it was too much $$ for a mod like that.

That is actually less $$$ than I had anticipated so I was happy, but perhaps I am putting too much value on this mod.
I wonder if the cost for BMW 3 series owners who want to upgrade to M3 mirrors is a comparable figure?
I suppose I had better do some more research on this before I get too set on anything...
Later,

The MY07+ sideview mirror is a nice upgrade from both a visual and a functional perspective. Visually, well, that can be subjective, but they are very sleek design. Functionally however, the mirror is larger and offers a better viewing angle. For comparison, from the driver seat of a MY03-06 211, you will notice a portion of the mirror is actually blocked by the A-pillar. This is remedied by the MY078+ mirror. Seeing this in person really tells the story. Good Luck

'06 mirrors are definitely a bit smaller than '07+'s.
I personally like the '03-'06 mirrors more, but like the '07+'s as well, I think each fit and compliment the subtle differences of the pre and post face-lifts. The pre face-lifted ones look sportier IMO, and more aerodynamic, however somehow the '07+'s have a lower Drag Coefficient, which is pretty interesting.

I did an 07-08 conversion on my E500 and considered changing the rear view mirrors to the new style. As far as I know the actual install is quite simple, as you only need to drill 3 holes (which end up all being completely covered) in order to hold the new assembly to the vehicle.
MB of Chicago quoted me almost $1,200 for all the parts needed , which sounds absolutely ridiculous. With that said, I think I'll keep the 03-06 mirrors. The new ones don't look that much nicer in order to justify such an expense. And as you said, in my opinion the 03-06 look sportier and complement the sportier 07-08 bumper very well. As always, it's a matter of personal taste.

That would actually be an excellent adjective.
As we've been seeing, it's all a matter of personal taste. "Sportier" is as each individual sees it.
Needless to say, they both look very good and the 07> mirrors share the new "family" look of all Mercedes-Benz going forward, as rear view mirrors is one of the ways they create a "brand identity" across all their models.
There's a lot to be said for automobile design that evolves in a way where older elements (03-06 mirrors), can integrate nicely with newer ones (07> facelift). Isn't that one of the reasons we're Benz fanatics?
By the way, NICE tail lights and calipers on your Benz Tom .
