Try front SAM (driver side, rear of engine compartment) - 54a / 15A.

good information. I called the (wrench) to ask Telaid about mine not working when I got the car. They told me no fuse. Dealer replaced the lighter and it still didn't work. My guess is they found the fuse AFTER replacing the entire lighter assy.

Thanks for the inadvertant tip to all on this post.
My cigarette socket died while I was detailing the car (2003 W211 320 sedan). I was playing my iPod using my iTrip when it died. The 12V outlet at the back of the arm rest was still OK.
I looked in the manual and the only references are to the fuse panel at the left end of the dash and the one in the trunk. There is no reference to the one under the hood either in the manual or on the fuse chart stored at the end of the dash. I would have been at the mercy of my dealer without this tip. Changed 54a and all is OK.
You have to love Mercedes for leaving this out. They must thing we are incompetent to release the cover latches, take a small flashlight and finding a fuse.

Sometimes those empty spots can let you add stuff like hardwired radar detector and such, but idk about on these cars, have never tried it.

Is that a problem for you? Perhaps you could consider the service DVD too like here:

All the fuse panels i a W211 are detailed there as to where they are - under the hood left side at the fire wall, at the driver's end of the instrument panel (be careful taking the cover off) and under the left rear cover of the luggage compartment of the wagon and the sedan.
There are charts in IP location that explains were all the fuses are and what their functions are.
Try reading the manual.

My issues with this fuse came from an iTrip as well. It shorted out.
To all those who have insisted that there is no fuse there most certainly is and any dealer selling you a replacement lighter is ripping you off.
The same goes for the socket at the back of the centre console. The fuse for that is in the trunk.
What amazes me is the number of people who do not read the manual to find out where the panels are.
The master fuse chart is in the panel at the end of the instrument panel driver's side.
It's a no brainer. 5 amp fuse. Two minute fiddle to replace.

Under Hood Fuse Box
I'd like to reply to those guys saying 'read the manual to find the fuses'. There is no reference to the under hood fuse box in my manual, and the nicely printed fuse list placed in the drivers side fuse box still makes no reference to it. So it does not matter how much reading you do, you will only be able to find out about these fuses on forums like this, or pay the dealer!

Mercedes E200
Ive just bought a 2004 E200 w211 (Ireland), the parking sensors are not working. Whilst checking the fuses in the boot i noticed fuse marked number 16 is melted. Could anyone tell me what this fuse is for, i dont have a manual. Thanks in advance.

Top (1) is for heat, bottom provides ventilation available for driver & front passenger

Yes that is the rear SAM normally f16 is spare or used for heated seats possibly Apparently European market may have different assignment.
