What's with all the ///EVO badges?

What's with all the ///EVO badges?
I've been in Rome the past two weeks and I've seen a lot of E's with the ///EVO badge on the right side of their trunk lids. Most seem to be diesels (E270 cdi's ,etc.) and are generally post-facelift. Anyone know what they are or what gives them that designation?

I dunno, given that the CDI was on the left side and the ///EVO badges on the right, it probably came with the car.
