why not include consumption, and here make a difference on long/ short journeys.
Also the tyres on the car, as I am sure 20" is consuming more than 16".

Wink 6 digits on the ODO

In Denmark we have special Taxi rules, and the E-model is a "taxi" in DK.
The Taxi companies can buy the Taxi with reduced tax (normal owners pay 205% tax when buying) and when the car is 2 years/ 250.000 km (not miles) they can sell the car without extra taxes.
So 6 digits on MB-E's are normal in the cold DK...

Update: 26600 miles. I did over 18K in the first six months and then 8K in the following three years. I feel the diesel is just broken in.

44K on my bluetec, 17k of those are mine. Gripes? I cannot stand the subtle, constant rattle coming from my pano roof's sunshades when they're open. Other than that I've had to replace both of my orange running lights on my front bumper due to melting/water damage. MB sells a kit for really cheap to do so, apparently its a very common problem.

My '06 E350 had 40,xxxK when I sold it, and I bought it with 29,xxxK.

It was a mixed bag of sorts. In many ways it was prestine, and in many it was troublesome. Endless transmission unrefinements with the 1st gear, and even a Valve Body change (after endless Dealer Visits to reproduce the problem) slightly helped it.

motor pulley squeeks, blower motor replaced, window motor replaced, etc. were some of the issues dealt with and fixed during my time. Also, some little rattles coming from a few areas when the roads were bumpy, and squeeky brakes at times. The original owners Carfax time-period showed a text book of little issues as well. Never anything too major, just "little" issues.

I have no idea if it was due to the previous owners negligence or poor ownership characteristics or not. Now, having my first ever Brand New car, I finally understand why people like to be the responsible party of a car from day 1.

We really like the car hate the reliability. E500 2003 We too are considering other options for a new replacement car.

108,000 miles

SBC failure, AC hose,Door locks, blower motor, pulleys squeeking replaced, ball joints, rear shocks, airmatic compressor and rear springs,Transmission leaking at connector,Motor mounts and transmission mounts, wood grain panels cracked, ignition key, odor in A/C, just to name a few not counting "normal" maintenance. If the car had conventional braking as the new ones the SBC would not be an issue. The airmatic however was a pain. I have owned many cars with airsuspension but never the headaches I have had with this one. Normal maintenance is not bad on cost but all the failures are really expensive.

Good to know someone is having good luck. How many repairs did you need to get 200000+ miles.?

General wear and tear items, especially suspension components, ball joints, bushes.

Major items were a new turbo, and a duo valve - the part itself wasn't expensive, but the labour needed to replace it.

The SBC was fine, no work needed, it was already probabaly replaced when I bought it (at 140,000 miles).

At what mileage did you require a new turbo? Any idea of the cause? How much was it?

I'm at 48.5K now.

I think it was about that time at 200,000 miles it needed a new turbo, I sold the car at 217,000 miles.

I'm not too technical minded, and not sure how to explain, but the turbo is variable, and the rod which makes it go in and out wasn't working, so it had to be replaced, it that makes any sense?

The car still drove without it working, just not as fast, top speed was about 70mph and it took much longer to get to that speed.

Sorry I should requote, that 202,000 mile in the picture, was on my 2003 E320 CDi which had the inline 6, 3.2-litre engine. (sold last year).

My current car is a 2007 E320 CDi (facelift), with the V6 3.0 CDi engine - currently on 147,000 miles.

So which car needed the new turbo, the I6 at 200K or the V6 at a lower mileage ?

Sorry, just want to know what to look out for..
