Did you get a free year of TeleAid with your CPO?
Hi everyone,
I purchased my second E350 (2007 this time) a couple of months ago after crashing and totaling my 2006 E350. Both were CPO cars purchased from MB dealers.
My question is this: on my first E350, I got a brochure in the mail a couple of weeks after purchasing the car, offering me a free year of TeleAid. Cool! I was kind of expecting the same thing on the second car, thinking it was another benefit of CPO.
After not receiving any information from MB about TeleAid, I called them to ask for my first year free. The person I talked to told me that it was up to the dealer to tell TeleAid that the car was sold and that it was eligible for the free year. This was apparently not done by the dealer, as they had no record of the car even being sold.
So I follow up with the salesman, and he tells me that he had never heard of getting a year of TeleAid free with CPO, only with new cars.
So my question to those of you who purchased CPO: did you get a free year?
And does anyone have any insight as to why it appears that some dealers do the free first year and some don't?
Thanks!

A lot of dealers/salesman don't know and just don't care. They have already made their sale and got their commission, its time to move on to the next sale.
I bought a CPO about 5 years ago and didn't get anything. I also just bought another one about 1 month ago from a different dealer and I haven't heard anything either. You probably just got lucky with the first car and had a salesman that was actually knowledgeable and cared.

I picked up my CPO in March and have been getting the offer for free teleaid in the mail. I haven't signed up for it. I wasn't sure if it was really necessary or something I was interested in. Perhaps I should take another look.

For free... why not? I have it but have never used it other than the initial Introductory conversation. I renew if for reasons unknown to me. (thats why they give you the 1st year free, LOL.)To me its worth about $150/year for accident/lockout help, but it costs about a Dollar a day for not much.

I paid additional for Premium services over and above the free basic 1st year service; paid full in the second year. This year I reduced it to a basic service and intend to retain it despite having never used it. Its nice to know all buttons in the car do something . Next least used button is the rear fog lamp.
