option to lower music volume automatically when navi voice gives directions?

ok i read the manual and searched the forum but couldnt find anything on this. is there an option to lower or mute the radio volume automatically before the navi voice gives directions (other than cranking up the voice volume)? this is for 09 model.

It should do it by itself. You can conntrol the nav volume only when its actually speaking

i wanted to do the same thing with my 09... nav voice was barely audible when i first got the car. but the previous post is correct. i jacked up the volume to nav so that it can be heard over the music which seems to lower a tad tho still very audible when nav needs to speak. but im still very new - 2 wks so if i find some other way, ill report back.

and you may use the RPT key to repeat NAV instruction and may raise or lower NAV volume at the same time.

MY09 does not have the option to mute or lower radio volume when nav speaks.....Nav voice just talks over the music.....

Adjustment possible with new software

The above is true for the original software version. However, after software upgrade an additional menu is available to ensure the music is played at a reduced volume when navigation is providing directions.

Push the Voice button on your COMAND then change the volume up or down as you want it to be and good. Next time she says something it will be that loud.

And in the settings menu of your navigation on your COMAND you can select the grade of how much the music shall be reduced.

So no update is necessary to accomplish what you want to do.
