Michelin PS2 Deal for SoCal
I just got Michelin Pilot Sport PS2's for my 08 E550.
I did a lot of shopping around and the last place I thought I'd get a good deal was a dealership, but thats where I ended up getting the best deal.
$1265 out the door for all 4.
I paid $262 for alignment and "ride hide adjustment" (i.e. using SDS to lower my car) which I thought was a fair price.
I am happy with the rear of the car, it is as low as I want it. The front I'd like to see about 1/4" lower and I think it can be done because when I pull off the freeway, I see it rise, so I know even within MB spec it can go a little lower. I'm going to try
Lastly, even though I didn't buy my car from them or get my car serviced there, I was given a loaner.
Anyway, $1265 out the door was lower than my local dealer, tire rack, discount tire/america's tire, etc., and by quite a bit, so I thought I'd share.
WHERE: House of Imports (Buena Park, CA).
WHO: Matt, 714-562-1209
Lastly, a buddy of mine has a Mercedes VISA Signature card which gave me another 10% off, so really I got $1138.50 out the door.
No one else could even come close to this price for these tires even before the VISA Sig cashback.
Hope this helps someone. I'm not used to running through tires in 20k miles, but at these prices I can

Is this the card you're talking about?
House of Import is pretty good as far as dealers go

It could be. The most important VISA SIGNATURE benefits to me are:
10% back for MB Dealership purchases over $500 (instead of 5% with the VISA PLATINUM)
1.5% back on ALL other purchases (instead of 1% most other credit cards give)
1% Foreign Transaction Fees when using your card internationally (instead of 3% most other credit cards charge... hence you still make 0.5% back on foreign purchases)
Of course everyone's situation is different, so there's no perfect card for everyone. Since I own 2 MB's, and my friend owns one too (soon to be 2?), it makes sense that I opt for the VISA SIGNATURE (at least for the first year).
Yes I paid a $90 annual fee, but in the first month, I earned over $200 in reward points already (mostly due to my friend taking his car in for service) which will go towards my MB payments and services, so it's worth it for me. Just think, if you had this card before you bought a new MB, and the dealership let you charge $5,000 to your card (as they often allow people to do), then that's $500 back already! Too bad I didn't think of it until AFTER I purchased my MB's... could have earned at least $1,000 from those 2 transactions!
