Anyone used Wheel Spacers ?

I'm trying to try 5mm wheel spacers on the rear wheels -- primary objective is to improve handling - any experiences ?? Also, would 10mm fit the 225s in rear without touching inner lining ?

any experiences would be highly appreciated

thanks guys

Ive been running mine for less than a year now. Did 120 in them no problem. You just have to have the right lug bolts to screw deep enough into your hub. And hubcentric spacers help

As far as handling, the difference is too small to notice

5mm are not hubcentric. You may end up with some shaking. The smallest hubcentric spacers are 10mm, I believe. Not sure how much it will improve handling since you are adding unsprung weight to the corners. Better to go with new rims if you're looking for a wider track.

I have been running 15mm in the back and 10mm in the front without problems. As the person above said key to it is to get the high quality cnc machine spacer which is a direct fit for your car.

In order for it to be hubcentric its gotta have the lil step in the spacer for a good snug..yeah i agree that they have to be at least 10mm. It will imrpove the stability of the car for sure.

I had my spacers custom made through Inland Wheel Center in San Bernardino in Ca. I have been very happy. Prices are very reasonable.

Whoa, just by looking at the outer sidewall of rear tire & the inner body curve I never thought I could go further than 5 mm ........ so the rears tires would still clear all the way with 15 mms ? I believe our cars have the same body & spring location right ??

Its pretty hard to find the right rims being a 4matic - maybe I should match the diameters and go wider rear - that shouldn't harm my drivetrain ?? Currently I've 225s with 16" rims all around (I know that sucks)

You could run 9" rims at all 4 corners. A 245 will fit on a 9" rim.
