New 06 E350 AMG Sport Pkg Owner needs more advice please.

I just purchased an O6 E350 with the AMG Sport Pkg. The car has 60K on it. I have some questions. Thank you to the board and members for the pre sale advice.

It came without the owner’s manual, where can I buy one, ebay maybe?

What steps would you do after the purchase?

I saw someone mentioned a reset step that allows the 7 speed automatic to adapt to my driving habits, would that be wise?

Should the tires have different tread wall size? Mine are 245/40/18 and 265/35/18. Is this done so it sits better?

Any specific thing I should look out for that might jump up and cost me some coin?

It doesn't have DVD but does have the rear hatch. Am I better off with an aftermarket GPS?

What headlight setting do you leave your car on?

What is a cheap HP mod?

Thanks to all.

2006 E350 Sport- Black on Black
Hey Man! Congrats! I too have a Sport 06 and have been making it my own ever since I took it off the lot in December. The tire difference is due to the "stagger" arrangement found on most German sportscars. Fatter tires in the back, leads you to need a 35 instead of a 40 for overall fitment with the wheel wells. Lots of guys play with sizes to get different looks. Your setup is standard for any sport models.

As far as headlights, turn to the on position.

So whats this about having a "rear hatch"? And if you find and aftermarket DVD/Nav system, let us know.

Owners manuals can be downloaded from the MBUSA.Com website, last time I checked. Yes ebay is another way to get one, but beware, it is thicker than the average bible.

ebay would be good

it's the throttle reset, you can search for it. makes a big difference once done.

tires are like that stock. you can check inside your driver door for factory recommendations.

you don't have airmatic and it's an 06 so your pretty well off.

oem nav is alright. i wouldn't spend money unless i buy the drive used.

there are not too many mods available for 350/550 engines vs 320/500 engines. ECU reprogram (many different suppliers), headers (pricey), sport camshafts (pricey).

No, this called a staggered setup where your rear tires are wider than the front tires. With the e350 it mostly a style thing.

Any specific thing I should look out for that might jump up and cost me some coin?
Electronic failures

Auto

Trade it in for a e550/e500. Seriously

I just bought my car and reset the tranny per forum instructions. It made a huge difference. Before it was shifting at 1,800 rpms in almost all gears and now goes to 3,500 - 4,000 rpms which works much better for me.

I understand the staggered and the tire width. I was just wondering about the tread wall size.

If I leave the headlights set to auto, can I leave it on that setting or do I still have to turn it to the off position?

Thanks,

BC

Okay PM on the way.

When I bought the Wagon, the dealer enclosed the wrong manual, for a 2006 sedan instead of a 2004 wagon.
Later he sent me the wagon book and I kept the sedan manual...
