My last Service was a "G", now it says I need "C", its supposed to be an "A" correct?
Also, if I take it to an Indie this time, do they have the proper ability/tools (like a Dealer for example) to check that the SBC is working up to par, and know if/provide any software upgrades for it, or the car in general, etc.?
Thanks.
My 2009 E350 started getting the "Service A" alert on my MFD 1 month after delivery. I took it to FJNB, who reset the alert, but then it said "Service C in 10,000 miles". I asked my service advisor, who said Service C was basically Service A. So when I brought my vehicle in for my 10,000 service, he charged me for "Service A".
You're welcome! If you want, you can e-mail your dealer and ask the relation between "Service C" and "Service A". If they say it's the same thing, then print out the e-mail and when you take your car in for service, present them with a coupon for "Service A" (there's a Coupons & Specials thread somewhere here). If they give you any flak... show them the printed e-mail. GL!
All I know is I'm not getting screwed this time, I'm gonna shop around and see who offers the best prices, and get them to acknowledge I am indeed due for an *A* Service.

I suggested that the MODS make this thread a STICKY (whether in the W204 forum, or every forum or whatever), but I guess they didn't think it was useful enough. I personally found it very useful...

LOL! I've heard many dealers price-matched coupons (or at least used to). A lot of dealers in SoCal used to accept other dealers coupons (until about 1 month ago when competition got too fierce). Now many of them refuse to accept other dealership's coupons. However perhaps that won't be the case in other areas of the country.

I use to live at the bottom of the "Grade" in Camarillo, Mission oaks exit.

But now from La to Ca is a little far for service.
BTW, anyone know how far you could "push" the recommended Service time (i.e how far past due you can wait until you Service it, as the screen will tell you "you are xxxx days/miles past service) before M-B will give you any Warranty guff? I.e, hold you responsible if something happens, due to not being as dilligent as possible with the recommended Service intervals?
I learned about this guy from the MBCA (MB Club of America):

He really knows his stuff and you won't pay dealer prices anymore.
