PM email address I will forward instruction sheet illustrating part details to assist in releasing catch hooks for drawer removal.

I am sure Konigstiger's instructions are far better, but I just (very gently) stuck a very thin flat-bladed screwdriver into the opening at the top of the drawer, and it popped open.

Did you guys figure this out? I just had the entire glove box out...this is probably the only way to get at that drawer mechanism.
Let me know if you need the play-by-play.

Nothing was wrong with the drawer on mine; I had the glovebox out to get at other areas, and noticed that the entire right side comes off as part of the "glovebox", drawer included.
I ended up removing the entire dash as well (only a few extra bolts, lol).
Anyhow, if anyone needs help or has questions on access to this area, let me know.

He only way I know to get at the mechanism is with the entire right front glovebox/panel off. You could try remove just the HVAC controls and pry it loose from the side, but you might damage it. Either way,
1. Remove wood trim by removing right side dash end cap, then pry out towards the interior of the car to release 2 fasteners above the key. Then wood strip slides 1 inch right and is released.
2. Pull up at 10 & 2 positions with a prying tool to release the center speaker grill (models after 2004), remove all 20mm Torx and the HVAC will come out.
You'll see the drawer on the right - but there is not much room to do anything.
If it really bugs you and you want to remove the entire right GB/panel, post back and I'll write you the instructions.
