I am having a similar problem with my 2007 e350.....loud grinding noise, sounds like a gear not engaging, and the sunshades stay in the open position...if someone could forward to me the technical info...would truly appreciate!

Pana roof rattling sound E350 2006
Pana roof of my car make rattling sound only when road is not flat.Otherwise there no problem with whole system.It seems rattling sound is coming from centre part of roof near light.Can any one suggest quick fix

hey all,
What's wrong with the sunroof ? I see it's a common issue as mine in Mercedes.
I'm having this problem when I want to open it, its just open for inch and partially not once as I need to press it again many times until it open completely. Also, when I'm about to close it it's really hard to get it closed but I finally closed it, but the problem is the loud noise sound when I want to close the shade. please help me to fix it ASAP and If anyone has the instruction PDF please send it to my email on "alpacino.s@hotmail.com"

I went to close the sunshade and would not close so I tried to open the sunroof hoping it would unstick!! It opened the sunroof a bit and when I went to close the sunroof I heard a click/popping. And now when I try to close the roof there is popping in the motor

Sunroof with panoramic roof.

New to this web site and I already got some very helpful hints. Now the panoramic sunroof will not operate and makes this very loud clicking sound that seems to be coming from underneath the light pod above the rear view mirror. Anybody have the same issue? Is it a defective motor, track, etc? Does anyone have any idea how to remove the light pod and get to the motor?
I appreciate the help and will post pics when I attempt to fix it.
