ok first of all, why the H*LL would you buy an 03 after all that people write on these forums??? (no offense)
i'd stay away from those (even the 04s, such as mine, can give you some major problems).
mine is an 04 and i have the blue glass. it adds a really nice touch even though it makes no difference in regards to heat insulation from the green glass imo. it came with the appearance package. you can get granite grey (my car) or tectite gray (charcoal looking imo).

Guess it makes sense since PPG is a US company. As far as the heat insulation, here's what PPG currently says: "In 1989, we introduced our Solextra® Glass, which was and still is the most efficient solar heat absorbing glass in the industry."

i know the blue windows don't serve as much but i just love the look of it against a black interior...

again you can get the blue glass on the 320 also (like my car). i don't know how the 03s work with packages. and you cannot get the blue glass with the amg sport package, only with the appearance sport package. go to cars.com and go under the research section. they have everything there.
and if you want the blue glass with the 04 - 05 320's, well you're gonna have to end up with airmatic as well since they come together on the appearance package.
with the w210, 98+ were better years. i had a couple of friends with the 95 - 97 e320's with the i6 and they said they were nightmares. one of them moved up to a 98 because of all the problems and he said it was like night and day.

Yes, daily driven since Dec. 2002. 117K miles now. I'm one of the lucky few who did not have any problems with an '03 model. Regarding airmatic, it's only a matter of time when the bags start to leak, so if that's your concern you should probably stay away. I haven't had a leak yet, but I'm way overdue, so it's just a matter of time for me.

I had an 04 In Pewter with the "Stone" interior. The carpets were light in color (not like today where the carpets are the darker color in the interior), so you have to keep them clean. I'd order that color combo again in a heartbeat because both colors individually looked really sharp, but together they really, really popped... especially with the brown wood steering wheel.
To describe the colors... Pewter is a Grey metallic color which in some ligh could appear to have brownish overtones. Stone was tan with a definite yellow color to it. Today's tan color is much more towards the brown shade. Ive seen a lot more CLKs with Stone than I have E Classes.
The blue glass is not a stand alone option & was included with different equipment in different years. Optically speaking, remember blue light is more dispersed than other colors of lightand is more difficult to see in. (Think Blue Blocker Sun Glasses), and how hard it is to read blue neon signs at night, particularly blue & red signs. It doesn't do anything really for the car except to announce that you have additional equipment in the car.
I've never had problems with my Airmatic in either my 04 or my 07... but my 04 had every other problem there was to be had. The later the 211 you go with, the happier you will be. A word to the wise: Extended Warranty/Protection Plan is mandatory.

appearance package was not too rare on the 320s/500s (amg sport package was more rare). again the only thing about it with the 320 is it will add airmatic (500 is already standard with it). i must say it is a great package though, the appearance package. it will give you blue glass, BiXenon headlights with washers, sport front bumper (has a painted slit that goes through the plastic mesh) and sculpted side skirts and rear bumper, LED brake lights, full leather on the 320s instead of leather inserts (500 already has full leather), airmatic on the 320s, and fat five 17" wheels (245/45/17 tire size, 17 x 8 wheel size), black wood.

for sure stick with an 04 to 05, I'd be on the safe side and go with 05 (but you will lose a couple of small features such as REST, charcoal filter on the 500 and 55, blue thumb wheel for center vent, butterfly center armrest). not a big deal losing those features imo just to be on the safe side of an 05 vs 04. only real thing i would miss from those is the armrest.

i'm trying to see if a 07 350's will fit in my budget......i already have a e63 front bumper and amg quad muffler really to go on....i don't care about power since it'll be my daily so the 320/350 will do....i never heard of the 320's having airmatic but i did hear the 06 350's having it...i guess i don't mind but i will add a aftermarket warranty for the car so if i can get into a 07 350 it should have warranty o even better..just trying to get the car's price range lower so i have room for mods...
tectite grey is what i want so it comes down to what year and mileage and price and then i'm set.

I have tektite grey metallic with appearance package and blue tinted windows. However, I have had the windows tinted darker. Love the dark wood interior and white dials in the dashboard.

yes i think prices for used market have begun to stabilize or something. i think 2nd half of 09 was a very good time to buy.
if you do go with an 04, just have the radiator checked out in case it is old design or crimping (valeo).
yes, no tectite in 05. i think in 05 they started to offer flint gray. granite gray went out of production after 07 MY. i was looking at an 04 tectite gray E500 at calabasas mb but they wanted way too much. nice color though. again cars.com under their research section has pretty much everything. i looked over that damn web site for 6 months until i found the right car.

yes, there is quite a difference between the years. 07 cars are way more up there in price compared to 06 and below (even 06 is quite higher than 05s, i guess especially on V6 petrol since 3.2 became 3.5). 07 is when the facelift went in (drastic change) and the quality went way up (and no SBC).

ya 07-09 were fully loaded with everything but we'll see how the funds are by summer time or late summer....i just want a decent daily driver...was going for a w203 05 230 but there too small for me but i'm going to go for a 04 tectile grey for now and forget about the blue windows unless it'll be a easy find which i doubt....
