New E500 last week...great car!
Currently have a 2000 BMW 540iT with all Dinan mods, lowered suspension, etc., but drove this E500 last week and could not resist (still have the 540). Also I think the dealer (Laguna Nigel MB) was a bit desperate to sell a car. Sticker was around $62, but I had them add a great AMG/Michelin Pilot Sport wheel & tire package which they had listed at $4,995 as an option on another vehicle on the lot. With the wheels/tires added, I got them to sell for $60 even, which I thought was good. Anyhow, I already have an eye out for a chip upgrade & exhaust. A "friend" is also setting me up with the V60 voice activated phone. Not holding my breath on the NAV given the posts I have read on this board.

GREAT looking car and it sounds like a hell of a deal. How do the 18" wheels and tires ride compared to the sport wheels that came with it? Did you drive it that way before changing the wheels? Got any pics of the interior.
Mine is on the dock in Germany waiting for a ship. Can't wait, but untill then I really enjoy all the pics posted here.

My car shipped from Germany through the Jacksonville, Fla port and I had the car in my hands in 3 weeks and 2 days. That's also including the "extra port security" of the code Orange here in the US. I received my car on Feb 28th. Mark

Interior picture
STKLAW asked for a picture of the interior. It is not a very good picture because of the flash. As far as the ride with the 18" AMG's, I love it. I did drive the car initially with the stock wheels and tires. Can't really say if the ride was much different, I didn't push it to be able to tell. I have been driving my 540 which has much stiffer suspension, etc., so even with the 18" wheels the ride to me is very smooth.

The dealer told me:
1) Today (04/08/2003) the car begins in assembly line.
2) It will take three days over the asembly line. So 04/10/2003 the car is finished . That´s Good: no Monday nor Wednesday car.
3) The average transport time from German factory to Spain is five days.
So I made my own calculations ot those two weeks.
A long wait since October 2002.
