2009 E350 FSS reset

My E350 has only 16,000 miles on it, and is running perfectly, but the FSS message came on for Service C. The OBD will alert me of any engine faults, and I regularly inspect belts and hoses. It has been one year and 7,000 miles since Service A, so I don't see any reason to pay the dealer to check the car for stored codes or faults, at least at this point.

I had the dealer do an oil and filter change, which including checking and topping off all fluid levels + tire pressures. Very fairly, they stated up front that they don't reset the FSS.

I don't find any instructions in my manuals for resetting the FSS, except that "shops other than M-B will find the instructions in the materials for this car", or some such.

I tried the following procedure several times, but no joy:

  1. Turn ignition key to position 2
  2. Press reset button twice within 4 seconds
  3. Turn ignition back to pos 1
  4. Press and hold the reset button
  5. Turn ignition to pos 2
  6. Keep pressing in the reset button (the button to the left of the odometer) until a buzzer sounds and a new miles display appears
Anyone have the correct procedure for this model?

If you dig

around those pages you can pull up the services check sheet
do them all and record them in your service book as performed an MB can't negate your warranty if you performed the work required.

Are you kidding me? Whats their excuse for not resetting at least stating the service 12 (oil change was done). Thats just pure arrogance on their part.
