Picture Me Rolling...In my E35 O
Hello my fellow Mbz E Class owner. Do you guys get compliments when you guys drive your car to like a gas station or just anywhere? I get many compliments from stranger all the time. I was a Lexus Guy. I had a SC430 and i loved that car but once I switch to Mbz its like a different Caliber.. I'm Happy to be part of the MBz family now..

Many people associate MB with luxury status. I get compliments, and people think that I am in a certain tax bracket. The truth is that I buy my cars used after they have taken a very considerable depreciation hit. Enjoy your compliments and enjoy your car. It does feel nice when people look at you differently.

For me it was. Twice. Until I drove them off the lot. Then they were 50 thousand dollar cars... for a year... then they were 30 Thousand Dollar cars.
When you think about it for a minute. a lightly used year and a half old car is the way to go. But you have to have patience to wait to come across just what you're looking for. So many Dealers order these cars so marginally equipped to make them more affordable for the Luxury car buyer "masses"... but they ARE a great sled.

2004 E320 4matic, 12' 300, 95' Deville(RIP)
Even though I haven't purchased one I talked my dad into getting one 2004 e320 4matic. I'm waiting for the 07 to come down. I agree it's good to let the car age a little after my last look (today) 07s are under $20k now I'm just looking for the right combo white 10 twin spoke with 4matic with keyless go

someones obviously a 2pac fan.
disclaimer: these are 2pac's words, not mine. they do not reflect my beliefs/viewpoints. this disclaimer is just to make things crystal clear
"Picture me rollin in my 500 Benz
I got no love for these *****z, there's no need to be friends
They got me under surveillance, that's what somebody be tellin
Know there's dope bein sold, but I ain't the one sellin!"
anyway back the the topic. I do get compliments too, but i think the majority of people assume what myfirstamg was saying. I got mine used too, and with higher mileage. I keep telling people, if honda made a 5 liter v8 accord that was rwd i would be all over that, hell I could probably buy 2 for the price of one e class, but until then, im going to be rollin in my 500 benz.
happy benzing (my new term)

Ya, for me buying like 2 to 3 years old is the way to go. It took forever to find it (actually it was pure luck at that point), starting looking in May, bought the thing in August. It's even harder with the newer ones (try finding a E350 with leather or a 350/550 with P2 in SoCal).
And good luck finding any W211 with the $150 fold down seat option. Seriousely, MB? $150 so you can fold down the seats?
Buying 2-3 years old makes a lot of sense but you have to be lucky to find what you are looking for! If I ever buy one new I am going to spec it out exactly the way I want it and do EDP.

Know what you mean. Took me 8 months of looking to find a 550W4 with a cashmere interior. The thing that sux about buying pre-owned is you have a hard time buying one with the options and colors you want. I still could not get Parktronic but got P2, Pano roof and everything else I wanted.

ok i'm good now
it takes a while but it's hard to let it go once you find the right one. i just love all the stuff.
EDIT: dammit, since I've been gone the language censoring software has gotten better

I got my first Benz a month ago after a year of searching for the right price. Went from a 91 accord to an 07 550. It crazy how many haters show up when your doing good. I'm enjoying everyday

Of all the compliments I received, I enjoyed teasing my gas station attendant and gas station owner. I go there less than once a month or two (diesel) and several times he asked if I changed the car again and I tell him no it’s another one the same color in my collection of MBs. About 6 times later I finally explained to him how to keep a (black) car looking better than showroom condition all the time. I think I could open a detailing shop (but I won't). Check out my photo album.

Compliments are 10-1 in my SL600 over the E500. The E-Class cars are a dime a dozen, really. I love mine, but there's nothing that special about it. Most people don't know the difference between an E63/E55 AMG and a plain ole E320/E350 with an AMG body kit.
The V12TT, on the other hand, alwys gets stares, thumbs up, and once even a middle finger from a spritely old Prius owner.

It is weird, because you are absolutely correct with the dime a dozen statement. It seems that there is an E every 20 feet. I still get compliments and looks. People at my job think I have money because of my E.
