What tires are you running?

Need to get a couple tires up front on a E350 sport sedan. Pretty much done with Continental as they don't seem up to par in my view. What are y'all running and what do or don't you like about them? Also how are or have they worn? I'm looking at the Michelin Pro Sport A/S +. They seem decent but want to see what other are running with.

03 E320 -wife's car now; 07 Porsche Boxster S - my toy
When the OEM tires wore out, I replaced them with Conti Extreme Contacts -- these were great tires but wore out after 40K miles. When I went to replace them, they were out of production so I bought a set of Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS (still on the car now) -- these are now about halfway worn, so my next tire for this car will be Nokian WRG2.

Since my wife drives the car exclusively, I'm not going to compromise on tires. I don't know where you live, but in Boston with a RWD car, tire selection is very important.

Regards,
paul...

Dealership had replaced all the tires with brand new OEM Conti's before I purchased the car. Once these tires wear out, I will likely replace them with Conti ExtremeContact DWS's. I had these tires on my Lexus GS350. They were very smooth, quiet and handled very well, both wet and dry.

+1 on the DWS's (dry ,wet , snow) although I currently have Michelin Pilot A/S Plus's on my car that I'm very happy with. BTW, Tire Rack also recommended DWS's as a replacement for the Pirelli Corsa racing/track tires I have on my Black Series. They are the #1 rated tire in the all season, ultra high performance tire class.

I replaced my OEM Conti's with Michelin PS2's .. I go through tires every 15k-20k miles or so on the OEMs and its about the same on the PS2's.

E320 & X166
I replaced MXV4 with ProContacts. I could not be happier with them so far. I really wanted the Bridgestone Serenity but the cost was almost double. Believe it or not I have ProContacts on both my 3.0 X5 and my E320. The ones on the X5 are over 25k old and are nearly as need as new. The X came with MXV4 as well, they just do not have traction in wet or snow. I never felt save with the MXV4. I have H rated on the X and V on the Merc

I just put Michelin Exalto A/s's on my 211 4matic sport wagon. Really quiet, handle fine but i don't drive at the limits so to speak, brake really well, good as anything else i've owned for snow, and price was excellent.

Bought the car used with Contis. They seemed to work, but noisy and half worn, and one or two leaking air..

Did some research and then bought Bridgestone Potenzas.

1) The price was right: Michelins was $400.00 more, Contis a bit more and Firestones a bit less.

2) reputation was ok, nothing really good or really bad.

3) after 3 months and 2000 miles I have no complaints, but was hoping for more quiet than the Contis..Not so, probably rough Florida roads: We use crushed corals rather than smooth AutoBahn Asphalt..

4) Fairly happy on the Potenzas: Would do it again for the price, but if I had more dough to blow, would go for the Michelins.
On the other hand, have had no complaints, high speed seems stable, (115 mph so far) corrnering with no noise ok, wet roads ok..Never took the Potenzas to the limit and beyond, but they feel good so far.

ive had many many tires over the years on many different cars. i now only buy michelin. may cost more but they are worth it. they are quieter, last longer and perform better. right now i have pilot sports a/s, pilot sport cups, and mxv4 and all are great.

My dealer keeps giving me such a good deal on the PS2's I can't resist.

Paid $1152+tax for 4 PS2's in Sept 09 .. plus installation cost.
Quoted $1250+tax for 4 PS2's including installation today.

MB dealer so it comes w/ the MB tire program.
