Cool Tires Anyone?

I want to go to either Goodyear or Firestone for tires because I really don't like ordering tires or waiting. In your opinion what tires are the best for mercedes? Must have the best comfort and quietness. I was looking at the Bridgestone Turanza with Serenity and Im just not sure about the Good year tires yet. I tried to go on Michelin... but I was only offered.. like 1 tire and it said not offering oem anymore sucks. Anyfeedback is great! Thanks!

Michelin PS2's. About to replace my current set with the same. Love the tire. Got a great deal as well.

Go with the Bridgestone. I would have gone with them but saved about $200 going with the Continental ProContact. A lot of people don't like this tire but if it is original equipment on many models of BMW, Mercedes, and Audi it can't be all that bad. I have them on both my cars and could not be happier.

honestly, compared to the PS2's, the Conti's that came w/ my E550 were horrible tires .. poor traction dry or wet .. very easy to hydroplane .. and wore out very quickly.

PS2's I've driven through a huge puddle at 60mph+ and its been stable (on purpose, without putting anyone at risk).

I'd rather get those EVO's or whatever C&D rated as good as the PS2's but half the cost than go back to the Conti's.

I only partially agree with that statement. These brands have a reputation for quality to uphold, they would not slap any mediocre tire on them. If that were the case we would see some Chinese piece or crap that would get destroyed the first hard corner you take. They still have to be able to sustain the 155mph limiter on these cars, handle corners, and be comfortable all at the same time.

I have V rated on the Merc and they were great during the last Ice and snow storms we had last month here in Missouri.
The E53 has had the H rated version on for 25k plus on them and they look good as new, well more like 80% or so.

Yeah, MB wouldn't put an unsafe tire on the car. Its a good "value" tire .. doesn't make it the safest tire or the best tire for the car.

And I think Continental is a German tire company so it does not surprise me to see them in German cars.

I have the serenity tires on my e320 any love how quiet the ride. The car previously have mx4 green x tire, very loud. I purchased the H rated to get the 70000 mile warrenty.

I just replaced my original tires at 40,000 miles. They were Michelin Pilot MXM4's. The new tires are the Primacy MXM4XL's. I think the new tires run much quieter and they also seem to ride smoother.

The Primacy's have a 55,000 mile warranty. My originals probably could have gone another 5 - 7K miles, but once they hit the wear line, I like to dump them.

I got them from the stealer, who (almost) price matched a local tire place... $1150 - out the door. I didn't think that was too bad. I've seen them a little lower, but it's down in the noise.

So far so good.
