E500 engine in E320

E500 engine in E320

Hi guys,

I would like to have some info, I want to change my E320 2003 engine for a E500 but I am not sure what engine will fit with no modification.
I am basically looking for something with more power and I know for sure that an E55 AMG engine will request to much modifications, may be an E500 or E550 engine?

I am planning to do the changes (if possible) and take picture of the all the swap from day one to the end and post it for everyone.

E500 sports pack with AMG kit

I dont think you will need to make any body work mod on the engine bay, but it will require you to make a lot of mods. what tranny do you have? may be worth while to take a look at some phote comp. between the two engine bays...

simple : Sell the 320 and buy a 500

Also I'm sure it will cheaper in the long run. This is not like replacing a small block chevy with a big block.

Agree. maybe easier to buy a whole e500.

True it is easier to buy a e500, but imo the e320 rides much better, better feedback from the ride to the driver; not so floaty feeling. I have owned a e350 and now a e500 and perfer the e350 ride but like the e500 power. GL whatever you decide.

The costs involved in doing such a swap, would likely be greater than twice what your 320 is worth. What are you going to do about engine management? Your ECU will not work. Exhaust? Different size plumbing. Transmission? TCU? Front supension? The 500 motor is heavier....

This is not an 87 Mustang that you want to replace the 302 and drop in a 351 Windsor.
