My 2003 looks about as nice as yours, and has a deeper and more shiny black than my 2015 black X166!
The shop did a great job color matching the paint. When the car is in such good shape as mine it makes it easier for them to blend it in.

I had them wet sand my hood to get these deep scratches I had. They did a great job getting those out and I had them paint my bumper since it was worn out from rock chips, bugs etc...That was worth the extra money. What a difference a shiny bumper makes in person.

Finally got the OE Tuning software installed. I battled with the MyGenius computer software for 4 days with calls back and forth to Patrick at OE. They ended up sending me a whole new unit but in the end, I think it was the USB cable. Anyway, software is installed but haven't had much of a chance to "test" it out. I'll keep you posted.

I'm not a fan of additives. Our shop recommends BG services as well but Mercedes-Benz does not. I've never used a singe additive in 162k miles.

I would argue this as my mpg's for the fuel pertaining one get a tad better everytime i add it. I love them personally. I know a bunch of people that love bg products also. However i would never purchase additives.... free 99. Or should i say i never have....

Fitted H&R springs all round today - off for wheel alignment later this week. Both rear springs were broken right at the bottom where they rest on the lower perch, about 1/2 coil on each side. Explains why the rear was sitting pretty low already!

Going to take it back to the body shop and let them deal with it.
Took it to the body shop. They said I needed new headrests and ordered them (billed to the other guys insurance company). Have to wait for the head rests to come in.

Got a call last week, and dropped it off today.
Wondering how long it takes to swap the headrests.

Today the 211 put some money in my pockets for once -fuel system components-warranty covered. And oil filter housing re-seal, coolant is turning brown after 4k miles and oil is starting to seep down my front cover.

Mine is starting to do the same as far as the oil seep is concerned, have the gaskets pictured but haven't had the time to do the job. How long did it take you to do these?

luckily it wasn't contaminated to the point where i needed to replace the expansion tank-so replacement wasn't necessary, housing was seeping/dripping and there was a small puddle of oil in my driveway.

well typically i just replace the housing however this is my car so i didn't mind re-sealing, saves me money and there was nothing to do here at work. Re-seal took about 2.5 hours, spent a good amount of time cleaning residual rubber gaskets from front cover and grooves of filter housing itself-age was the main culprit. Drain coolant-remove belt with tensioner-r/r oil filter housing-seperate oil cooler and replace seals-install in reverse order. It's a quite simple job and there really isn't anything to mess up. 1-10 job is about a 6 on level of difficulty. AMG i know you do alot of your own work so you should be fine tackling it yourself!

Quick question, how does this job compare in difficulty to replacing an ignition coil?

Oh damn that's going to be way to difficult for him. Me and a friend had to change his ignition coil for him.

Good input you two, unfortunate you have to bring personal affairs into the mix or whatever you're talking about lol. If you have a personal grievance, I would ask you to contact me directly. Thanks.

ignition coil 1, sending unit replacement and oil filter housing gasket reseal 5's on both. What engine to you have? Coils take like 5 minutes if that.

You better tighten up and change that joint! Before you on the side of the road hahaha jkjk, really though, pretty straight forward. Except unless you are on a lift I'm not sure you will be able to rotate it to remove the remaining t55's or what ever torx they are....

looked of pretty good Quality. Jack was jacked up and only had 2 jack stands so with only front wheels off ground I was able to turn the shaft. Thank good I just bought myself a dewalt cordless impact gun for xmas without it, it would have been much more of a pain and time consuming.
Now I'll be doing fuel sender as a maintenance precautionary and hopefully get some performance (probably feel pump also) then on to conquer the AMG caliber ordeal "" hopefully

Btw this was sitting on the underbody cover with a lot of rusty dust from the U-Joint

Installed a set of E55 mufflers on my E350 on Saturday. Love the way it makes the rear end come together as well as a slight change in tone.
