Limp home mode B5/1 sensor or Turbo!?
and sorry if you see this on another forum but not getting any replies there!
I have a w211 2003 E270 that has an intermittent issue, but I have found a way or causing the issue almost at will! issue is as follows:
When the car is cold I floor the accelerator and within 200-300 yards the car goes into limp home mode! no power very slow acceleration.
No lights come on and to reset it I just stop the car and restart it and all is fine again.
If I drive the car with say less then 50% throttle for the first mile or 2 there is no issue, I can floor it no problem thereafter.
I have a cheap EODB reader which shows no codes.
I took it to a non merc deal for its service (100K miles) and they said it had code PO105-001 sensor B5/1 over voltage. they cleared the code and I drove the car less then 300 yards and got the problem to happen, I returned to them and the code was showing up again.
So what do you all think? is it the B5/1 sensor (if so where do I find this and can I do it myself? and pics anywhere? is this the MAP sensor by another name?)
or I have also a found post that say:
VNT turbocharger stuck (grabs) briefly,
P 0105-001: Boost pressure overshoot exceeds measuring range of boost pressure sensor B5/1
whatever the above means!!??
anyway the issue is getting a little more frequent

I will try and find more about replacing the ERG valve thank you for the suggestion.
As for abusing the car, it was happening at near full throttle and worse in cold conditions so I thought I would try full throttle with the car cold and it almost always does it if I do! the issue is that if I need to overtake or pull out quickly I can't as it may drop out on me!
I have also read that if the ECU has been re mapped this could be it, how can I tell if this was done by the previous owner?
As no light comes on is this Limp home mode or just the turbo dropping out? any way of resetting it while going along?
thanks

Why would you care what he does to his vehicle?

After all, whose car is it anyway?
He is asking us for help, and you critize him for getting with it when HIS car is not fully warmed up.
Why not try and help him instead of being critical of the way he drives?
