Can anyone professionally recommend "matching" bulbs for my '03 E320? I have the Xeon Headlamps, but the yellow fogs and parking lights are embarrassing! Why did Mercedes cheap out and do such a thing?

i picked up a set of phillips bluevision. i think it looks pretty nice and whitish blue instead of the ugly yellow.

I tried bluevision lights first and they didn't look much better so I then went for PIAA extreme white which look the best of the 4 bulbs I tried.
I haven't changed the fog lights as I don't know how to get to the bulb. Anyone know?

So the piaa bulbs are fpr the parking lights? How much and is there a special part number? Is it available in local auto stores or just specialty?
Thanks All.

Very easy! Have a look under the fog light (under the bumber) you don't need to jack the car up, there is a small cover which is held up by two clips. Open the cover put your hand in and the bulbs twist out.

Thx richard.. what kind of bulb do you use for your foglight?

For the Parking Lamps, I tried the PIAA 19172, but too blue-waiting on #19169 to arrive. In the meantime I took those bulbs out-I think it looks nicer this way.
The fog lights are H11 from www.D2technik.com, 626-282-2727 and those match very well!

I haven't changed them yet! I only found out over the weekend how to access the bulb to see what type it is and so far I haven't found anywhere in europe that sells the H11 bulb.Originally posted by sf49ers79

Like other people here I tried the PIAA 19172 for the parking/side lights and found them to be too blue, I don't know how they can call that 'white' so I changed them for the Platinum White which are perfect.
03BABY, what is the name of the bulb you bought for the fog lights? That website is down at the moment.

The owners manual states that the fog lamp bulb is an HB4 or 9006. Is that not correct? I have found a few web sites with H11's but don't see that anywhere in the manual. (page 332)
Has someone tried the HB4/9006 and it didn't work? thanks!

I think what most of us are trying to do is "match" the color of the bixenon headlights to the parking and fog lamps. Those lamps look almost yellow compared to the bixenons. I swapped out the fog bulbs on my S4 so that they matched and it just looked better. No real performance gain. Hope that helps.

No name on the box-It's just marked "Super White H11" or something like that. I'll take a picture of the box later. It was in a generic box-probably manufactures for other compnaies.
BMcD-E500:
Tried several HB4 and 9006's none of them work due to the distance between the prongs of the bulbs. I was fortunate to have D2technik in my area and they were able to match my stock bulbs right away. The H11's are the only ones that will work for the W211 fog lamps. The HB4/9006, however, will fit the AMG style fog lamps.
My PIAA #19169's arrived at the shop today! I'll put them on the take pictures.

03Baby - Thanks for the update. Good info. I already tried the other PIAA wedge bulbs for the parking lights and didn't like them so I ordered a set of the 19169's.
I'll give the H11's a try. Thanks!!

03BABY,
What did they charge you for the H11's? They quoted me $50 a pair.

STKLAW:That's is correct. Worth it for me-look at the pics!
Not a clear picture, but here is what it says:
H11 12V 55W
PGJ 19-2
No Manufacturer name stamped anywhere on the box-just the words "Super White"
Went to the shop and they delivered a #19170-so 1-2 more days I guess.

Great forum this, I had no idea how to change the fog lights till I read it here.
As the D2technik website is down, and I couldn't get hold of them by phone I ordered some from lightingresearch.com which someone else posted. Their website has the option to ship internationally so hopefully they will turn up soon.

I just changed my high beams to PIAA H7s. To do that, you remove the cord connection, twist the removable bulb housing counterclockwise, pull out the removable bulb housing, switch bulbs, and then reverse the process.
What do you have to do to change the parking lights? If there is some technique to use, I'd love to hear about it.
