Propping the hood Vertical?

I can't seem to find that little red button on the hood shocks to prop the hood up vertically. On my little C230, there's that red button I press in to prop the hood vertical....

EClass does not have the red button. Look down low where the hood attaches for a lever that you can press. There is one on each side.

on a W212 there is no lever. Just push the hood in open direction after the first stop and it goes straight up. W211 could be the same.

It is on the inside of the hinge. Feel around -- it moves a pin that holds the hinge in place.

You have to do one side first then the other. For the life of me I cannot remember which side is first.

Release the left side first, then the right. When the hood is vertical, the left side will lock, so you will have to release the left to lower the hood.
