06' w211 E500 Sport
check out cars dot com thats where I got mine for $18k 90kmiles '06 e500 sport.

Looking back I would have opted for the v6 or even the diesel, but the v8 loaded lured me in, even though its only 24 valve. It does suck gas, but not as much as the e55 or the e550 +.

Protip: If you do pick one of these up (2003 to 2006) make sure to get the newest year you can, as there were too many to list Problems with the 03's and the earlier models, just like every car during the initial years.

Yea definately true on the years 2004+, I wish i can afford the e500amg but v8 is too much with gas prices nowadays. So yea also im going to wait another 6 months so i can push to $18k and winter car prices go down.

Thanks

Oil went down today. Buy all the gas you want now and stockpile

If you could you should try to pay a little bit more and buy a 2007 E350. Probably the best value used Mercedes you can buy because you get the new face-lift model with all the quality improvements introduced in 2007.

I've been looking around for a D class car that I can pay cash for, and honestly with a budget around 15k I'd pick up a W140 S500 and pocket the rest of the cash for refurbishment and repairs. Or I'd snag a 2000+ 40v D2 Audi A8 and reserve cash for a new transmission

reasons as to why a 2003/2004 s420 or s500 is better then the E320 or 350s?

The W140 were the 90's vintage S klasse, I've always loved those tanks. But regardless, I just did a quick search around here and one of the Merc dealers has an '04 E320 4matic with panny roof and 95k miles for just $12k damn that's a good deal.

you paid 18k for an 06 E500 RWD with 90k miles?!

I paid 22k for my 06 e500 4matic with damn near every option and only 63k...

For 15k you're likely looking at a car with high mileage (90k+) depending upon where you live and what's available. for instance, AWD is always worth more in the northern part of the country than the south. 8cyl is always worth more than 6cyl in terms of mercedes vehicles, and condition is a big factor.

I'd say your year range, if you are set on a W211 is 03-05, maybe an 06 with very high mileage (110k+) again depending on model and options.

You'd be better off looking for a super low mileage W210 e class as you can steal those nowadays and they are basically bulletproof. My father bought his wife a W210 e430 4matic with 40k miles I want to say 2 years ago for under $14k, and they seem to be even cheaper now.
