Please Help: Lock the Key in the Trunk

Hello All,
I just locked the key in the trunk and the spare key is 400 miles away. Any idea to unlock it quicker than mailing the key to me?
Thank you

There really is no way. These cars are designed to not be able to break into; without doing some damage. Sorry. I did the same thing in my X5, luckily it was in the driveway. Just ordered a valet key and waited a few days to get it.

FYI: I did call at least 10 different locksmiths to come open it. Only one offered to open it without that stupid airbag between the door and roof!!!!! After about 30 minutes of trying, he was not successful.

There's no way. With Keyless Go your car would not have locked with the key in the boot. They should make Keyless a standard feature.

Sorry.

Yeah this saved me a couple of times. I would press the button, it would close halfway and then go up. After a couple of tries I realized the car wa strying to save me from my own negligence

Keyless go is indeed one of my favorite features and I use it daily. So much so the other day after parking my Volvo, I got out and out of habbit was looking for the keyless go button on the handle.

Here's the string trick...

But with the extensive weather striping, I doubt it'll be as easy as it seems in the video.

there is a way!!

same thing happened to me.

i called a locksmith, he got me in the car.

i then went into the fuse box and took out the alarm fuse.

then reconnected it and pressed the "open trunk button" and unlocked it.

very easy

hope this helps!

Did you get it open?

If they use that air bag, you will never have the same seal on that door again. I hope they didn't

Wait, you don't have a button that opens the trunk from inside the car? Are you telling me that I have it as an option on my car?

yes im sure he does.

but when the alarm goes off and you get into the car. the button becomes inoperative.

so you have to pull the alarm fuse, once in the vehicle.

then reconnect it and voila!

fwiw, if you have a TeleAid subscription, there's a free remote unlock app for the iPhone. Works great.

Ah, you learn something new everyday. I did not know that when the alarm has been tripped that it disables the usage of that feature.

On my 09 e320 bluetec fuse 8 (in the trunk) is the alarm fuse. If the trunk switch is deactivated, how to get into the trunk to remove the fuse?

Also on the question of the fuses and their location, in the interior fuse box, there is a sheet with the fuse map, consuming unit and fuse number.

The metal key will be attached to the regular fob that is locked in the trunk. I can use an air wedge to open the door but that tool will be also in the trunk.

Can MB open the car door and truck remotely like On-Star can?
I really long for the days of the keypad on the door. It was great to leave the key locked in the car or trunk. The limited number of fob's prevents a hide a key.
