I would assume the dealer should have one for you.

To my knowledge it's only in black.

ya think they are all black probably can have one painted. also don't like how it sticks out so much. our 02 CL500 (came painted) and previous 07 C230 (black) has way thinner plate mounts so it was almost as if the plate was touching the bumper, way better looking imo

I actually LIKE that it sticks out so much. Offers a certain degree of protection from idiots backing into your car. The license plate cover can actually prevent a lot of damage to your front bumper as it protectors the bumper against minor nicks...

When I park my car I usually find an end spot so if someone backs into my front the license cover would protect it. There is no such protection for the rear bumper so I usually don't park anywhere someone can park behind me...

No my car is silver and so is the tag mount, to be honest i've never seen one that wasnt color matched. Perhaps it has something to do with the DC area requiring a front license plate. My car was delivered new with the body colored tag mount...

2003 & 04 originally came w/ color matched mounts, later years came w/ black as supplies ran out. If you order one now, its gonna be black.

that is the advantage. has saved me a few times. one time i was standing by my car and the car parked in front of me went out of park cuz the dog inside hit the shifter and it tapped my car. my friends were like HUH??? the guy felt really bad but luckily nothing happened

Protects the bumper from everything except the four holes drilled into it to install! OP doesn't say what state (or country) he's in, but many on these forums go without a front plate and just hope not to get ticketed. For those lucky members in states that don't require a front plate, some pay body shops to repair the holes that prior owners drilled so as to get the originally-intended clean look.

A friend told me that he's taken a cheap plastic plate frame & ran over it to break it and leaves it and the plate in the trunk. When he gets stopped he tells the officer that it just broke & fell off and he tossed it into the trunk until he can stop & get a new one. Never gets a ticket. (We live in CT where 2 plates are required so the cops have a reflective surface to aim the laser at for speed checks).

Mine's in the trunk intact, screws and all. I only referred to it once, while getting that warning. A friend gave me the line "I'm waiting for the part FROM GERMANY"

I haven't had a front plate on my daily driver since 1990 here in So Cal. I've been stopped a few times for other "issues" but the lack of a plate was never mentioned. I have heard that the LAX airport parking police are sticklers for front plates and will write a ticket if you are parked there, so I take the Jeep with the front plate if I go to the airport.
Happy Thanksgiving day to our US board members.
Mike
