Depo facelift LED taillights...opinions?

Has anyone purchased the Depo facelift LED taillights? Is the quality and light output good? They look identical to OEM 2007+ taillights, found a set on Ebay for $225

The auction has an interesting quote:

You might or might not know that Pre-facelift 2003-2006 Mercedes make its E-Class the Red/Clear/Red/Clear/Red style on its tail light while they improve the facelift 2007-2009 E-Class with the Red/Clear/Red style. However, if you would purchase an OEM factory Mercedes 07-09 tail light, they will not function properly on the 03-06. With our new tail light, this is your chance to own the real FACELIFT look onto your 03-06 model E-Class WITHOUT modification, direct fit and is designed specifically for the 03-06 model.
(Emphasis added.)

I know that the facelift headlights are not plug and play because the wiring is different, but is what the auction alleges about the taillights true? There seem to be a lot of taillight transplants on here with no comments about any issues.

I've never heard the tailights being different.

Tail lights are plug n play... I went from incandescent to 03-06 LED with zero problems then went to 06-09 with no problems again

Idk why you would buy depo tho when oem ones are cheaper than the ones you linked

I mean the 03-06 are cheaper but the face lift ones are about the same

Used on the boards just have to find them 03-06 LED go for $150ish and the face lift ones go for about $250ish just much harder to find.

I may be interested in selling my face lift set, there is a small chip in the bottom right corner of the left one but other than that they are mint and full functional

Djrabbi and Crafty: could you guys PM me some pics of your taillights? Djrabbi did you find a nice E55 yet? New OEM facelift taillights are $632 from the dealer or $407.20 with shipping from Parts.com.

Where please? I need a new right side one (was broken in a parking lot - I rescued the pieces and have it glued & taped back together but want an unbroken one). My dealer wants $274 and parts.com was $164. The ebay listing is $200 for the set (right & left) so that's only $100/ea. I'd love an OEM for less than $100 so I know it's right.

TIA
Jim
