Another magic use of WD-40!!!
Just when I thought I know all the applications of WD-40, I just learned another great use of the product!!! We have all seen the ads for removing the haze from your headlight cover. You have to buy a big can of the product and buff all the haze away. Here is an easy way to remove the haze. Just spray some WD-40 on a paper towel and wipe the haze away from the headlight cover. Yes, it's that simple! Try it.

Doesn't the haze come back as soon as the WD-40 evaporates/washes away? I would think that the WD was acting as a "tear film" on the eye does, by temporarily filling in all the tiny imperfections/discolorations on the headlight cover, thus becoming a temporary smooth surface which transmits more light rather than scattering it.

There is a simple wipe solution, liquid non abrasive UV safe deoxidizing system, called Pittman.
You'll have to google it, but my problem is this crap is on the INSIDE of my lamps.... no way to get in there unless I uninstall the lamp completely, at which point I'd replace it with glass depo or something.

I was skeptical like all of you when I learned over a week ago. However, I was not ignorant about it either. I did it on my G35 and it worked like a charm. It's common sense that you should wipe clean the cover once the haze is gone. You just don't leave an oily film on the cover. Haze can be inside/outside the cover. You have to check where yours at. Or course, nothing will remove the inside haze.

Two best products for cleaning headlight lenses ... in my opinion: Plexus, and Novus 2 plastic cleaner. Most motorcycle dealerships stock both products ... best plastic windshield cleaners/polishers on the market.
