A/C red colour blinking button W211 E200 CDI- 2004
Hi everybody i know that many users had same problem before but I never found any really useful answer to that thing.
After driving for 1000km suddenly A/C started blinking and shut itself off. We have checked freon (by professional) he said is more than enough, so we have found evaporator sensor - and it is also OK, so what could be the next step where to look for the fault (FUSES are ALL RIGHT) - is there any Relay switch in fuse compartment under the bonnet that could be gone? or how to get A/C A/C engineer mode on (2 zone AC) W211 E200 CDI- 2004 - The 5 sec REST button doesn't work. PLSSSSS Help

Attempt total reset - disconnect main battery in trunk, wait at least 5 minutes and reconnect. Afterward you may need to resynch windows (close and hold switch for a second or two), sunroof (tilt up and hold switch fort a second or two), and reactivate steering angle sensor (start engine and lock wheels from side to side then center it).

needs a re-gas for the Air con and then the code needs to be reset using STAR. I had this a few months back, been fine since.

GAS
Hi. Thanks for the reply - it was not the gas, system has had more pressure than required (checked by professional) so I borrowed "Launch" computer from my friend, reseted error codes and it is back to "normal" - normal means it is blowing cold air only on 1 zone, and the REST BUTTON on th econtrol panel doesnt work - so now I suspect it is the AC control panel. Please does anybody have instruction how to remove the panel please? thought that one of the air FLAPS inside the console is gone but computer shows normal values for left and right - the only thing computer says that COMMUNICATION WITH ECU NOT NORMAL for both zones flaps motors

Just as a point of reference, too much R134 can be as bad as too little. It might be worth subscribing to www.alldatadiy.com, its a cheap subscription that covers some of the WIS info.

Hi did you get to the bottom of this ?
I have just got my car back from mechanic and the ac off button is illlimunated.
When I press it it just flashes a few times and goes back to being off.
Annoying the hell outta me, no power in the heater

Quite possibly you may be confused---up to 31 05 05 when compresson on--- LED is off, however as of 01 06 05 LED is on------- when compressor is on!
The potentially bad news is that with the W211 the AC control units can't be self diagnosed like the previous W210-----that means a trip to the dealer for a fix and or an indy with factory diagnostics or overlook the problem and live with it!!

Mercedes W211 AirCon light blinking
who has connected his "equipment" and said that there is too much pressure in air con system - so we were thinking that we have full system. After 2 attempts of resetting computer the light was still back. We went to another aircon specialist in POland and he said that the idiot in UK almost fuc... our aircon system because in Mercedes there is some special way how do u measure pressure - at the first sight u can see that you have full pressure but there are 2 zones and you have to measure them separately - so he did check only 1 zone - the 2nd zone was empty and computer is preventing the whole thing against collapse by switching it off. He said if you force and reset computer 2 -3 times it will allow the system to work on low or no pressure your pump can be gone.
We have filled up the second zone and the system is on and working.

First step with AC OFF light illuminated is to check refrigerant if fine, attempt reset as previously suggested if this fails then SDS test for definitive diagnose.

This is the second time I've seen this statement. I've been trying to pull the error codes off my 2004 E55 AMG. Are you saying there is no way to pull these codes except for SDS?

How did you recharge 2nd zone?
YES - You can't believe what was that. In UK we had mobile aircon specialist

Hi there, did you manage t get your's fixed. I have the exact same problem. My model/verion only has the AC/off button nd its permanently on, when you press it flashes then goes back to being solid.
If I reset it (remove battery leads in boot) is it a pain to resync everything back up.
