Check subscription to www.alldatadiy.com. Probably have the procedures there.

There's another thread that talks about tranny oil flush. Someone said they got it done at a mercedes dealer for $260 out the door, the oil and filter alone is $120, so getting it done at a mercedes dealer is a good idea. $260 isn't unreasonable.

Unless you have the proper tools you will need to go to the dealer or a Independent MB shop that does have the tools. There is no filler spout on the 722.9 Transmission so the fluid must be pumped in from the drain and the fluid level is checked via SDS.

edwin, thanks for the response..

So basically I would need a pump, and can you elaborate on what an SDS is?

And also, how do I know if the dealer does in fact change the tranny oil? Anyway to check?

Not only do you need a pump, but you need special connections to the pan.

Wait there is more!!

Guy, are you serious? I was just looking for a quick answer.

I just pulled the pan, cleaned it, replaced magnet, new gasket refilled. Ok many say not to do it that way but I have only been doing this about 40 yrs now and never had one fail. Doesn't mean it won't but havent had one yet.

Take it to the dealer or independant MB service. You need proper tools
