Sunroof Problem...

So I have this weird problem about my sunroof. It won't close if I press it two clicks (auto close), it will move to the closed position, but then it will back up about 3 inches, like if something was in the way.

I tried doing the re-sync, but that didn't fix it.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Happened to me. Have you tried cleaning the tracks?
Take a soft cloth, old t-shirt etc..., and wipe the tracks clean and try again.

I've read that ideally you want to clean and re-lube them but I only cleaned mine and it works fine.

(I feel like I just wrote this exact thing somewhere else )

This place is a joke.
You will need to have the "pinch protection" re-calibrated either at a dealership or by someone who has a Star Diagnosis system.

Same problem here with 06 E320 CDI. Clean the tracks with a Qtip with a mild solvent -- I bend the end so I can get it into the track. Once all the gunk is removed use a light lubricant on the bottom track. I have found that they are very sensative to cold weather -- that is when mine malfunctions. Be careful and not put on to much lub and don't use grease -- a spray on lub works good for me.

It's just a matter of hooking up the computer and performing the process, expect about .5 to 1.0 hours @ your local dealers labor rate.

.5 x $125/ hr = $62.50 to $125.00 to hook up and read computer.

Youre looking at 1 hr charge at whatever the door rate is.

I thought the owners manual had a re learn procedure that basically required open fully then close and hold the button in closed positon for 3 seconds. Check the manual before you pay for even 1 hr dealer time.

Yeah I tried doing the re-sync but it didn't fix it. The dealer can reset the "pinch protection" or something like that with the star diagnostic system, and I think I'm gonna have to go get that done. Unless there's another way to fix this..
