Cost of a set of stock wheels for a 2003 w211
I have my eyes set on a 2003 e320 silver/ash with 115000 miles.
The problem is that it has 18" wheels with low profile tires (dimensions 245/.../18 sorry... forgot the third number.
I prefer stock wheels.
The reason is better ride quality and that I quite regularly drive on bad roads (and there are more potholes in LA than stars on the milky way on top of that).
What would be the cost to get stock wheels? They don't have to be new.
Thanks!

Check your local salvage yards. They usually have decent sets at more than reasonable prices. I wouldn't pay more than $100/rim. eBay has some deals too, but shipping rims can be costly. Check the For Sale thread here while you are at it, you never know if someone in your area has a good deal.

$100 per rim plus the cost of a new tire seems fine (those low profile tires cost about $300 a piece).

I took a look on craigslist, and nobody in all of LA seems to be selling w211/e320 wheels.
Looks like I'm in for a tour through the salvage yards...
I'll probably put a "wheel swap" ad up for someone looking for 18" wheels. The wheels actually look nice, but I prefer the ride of regular wheels. There were chrome wheels on that car (that I may buy) before the current owner replaced it with the 18" wheels...

I have a set of 16" stock wheels with tires from my 2006 E350 storing in my garage for few years. Like new condition and only 6000 miles on wheels & tires. I'm in L A area. PM me if you still interested.
Thanks
