Crank Shaft Position Sensor Keeps on Failing

This is the third time I am replacing it in 3-4 months.

I replace it the car works for about 1-2 weeks and then it goes bad again.

I am thinking its the ****y parts from Autozone, so I went ahead and ordered a Bosch crank shaft position sensor. It should be here today, once I change it i will see how things go.

Has this been happening to anyone else?

I have a 2004 Mercedes Benz e 320 4 matic.

Thanks,

Sounds odd. I might be wrong but if your Bosch one goes out.....then there is electrical mis connect some where.

Yep! Got one at ORielly's and it failed a few weeks after...I was going to wait for the Merc/Bosch to come in but the Wife wanted the car working right away. No problem with the new one. The ORielly had a Lifetime warranty but what a hassle to change out...got the guy to give me my cash back.

As stated above...if you bought it at an auto parts franchise store and didn't get the Bosch or MB Branded expect it to fail. Also, remotely possible is that the other CPS ("Camshaft" not Crankshaft Position Sensor) is failing. I would try a good CrankPS first though!

Check your flywheel. On a friend's Audi A6 3.2 the flywheel was hitting the CPS and he kept replacing CPS.
