When you break, you are hearing the SBC compressor not the Airmatic air compressor. This is normal. As far as uneven rear, left air strut could be leaking air, which is common on W211 and you should replace them as a set.

Thank you for the quick reply would the SBC compressor go off even when I'm going over a speed bump? How much do the air struts cost?Originally Posted by 06E5004ME

check Arnott air struts. They have lifetime warranty. cost is about 900.00 for pair with exchange core. . You can get them less through Advance Auto Parts using the online discount. I put two on my 2005 about two years ago, and am very satisfied.

Yes, after parked for sometime. Also the pump will run a lot when still at idle.Originally Posted by SA187

I left the car sitting for about a week and that corner never got any lower. Does the pump run when the car is completely off?Originally Posted by homeofstone

The best way to tell if you are leaking air is to let the car sit for a while. The air leaks are progressive, mine went from bottoming out in about 2 days to 5 hours.
I still want to say that when you go over speedbumps, you hearing SBC because you are breaking (hopefully) before you go over one. The air compressor is pretty quite actually and with the engine running it's hard to hear it working.

well I hear something running (sounds like a compressor) after I go over the speed bump but that would be my front end but that seems fine.Originally Posted by 06E5004ME

Mine is doing something similiar, but doesn't sound like a compressor. It sounds more like a big rig releasing it's air brake. More of a quick blast of air when hitting a bump. I have no idea what that is.

Now that you mentioned that I also heard that sound too. Well I've let the car sit for a whole day and the car hasn't dropped any lowerOriginally Posted by blrx7r1

Also for trouble shooting it is best to start out with a Star system to completely go over the system… you might end up doing soap and water looking for leaks but a Star system will get you to the proper components to check out.

Arnott offers a 2-year limited warranty only. Any additional coverage may extend from the retailer who sold them.
