Lowered with 17"?

Two weeks ago, I purchased a return 03 E500 Sport with 11,500 miles. Since then I got the windows tinted and hardwired a V-1.

Tomorrow I am heading down to TWS to have the baby lowered a tad. I am a bit hesitant b/c I have the stock 17" sport rims and I am thinkin' it might look kinda lame. Any thoughts on lowering with the 17" rims? I am I being retarded? Has any one done this? If so could you post photos? I know this can be done on your own but I am pretty lame myself; so I'd rather fork over the cash and have it done right.

Anyways....Keep you posted- I'll have pics up tomorrow night.
ps- out the door $425. How does that sound?

TWS and Sanders hooked it up. Quoted me $425 out the door but gave me a deal at $325. Took about 1.25 hours. I'll post before/after pics later tonight.

perfect drop. I need to find a dealer in houston that will do it for me. I was planning on dropping it on stock wheels also.

sakai73, that looks great. Did you get new springs or did a dealership do that for you through the Airmatic system?

sakai, looking good. I also have a brilliant silver E500 sport. Mine is lowered on stock silver rims, but mine is a bit lower, about 2". I have about a one finger gap. Looks very aggressive driving down the street. I think you should go a bit lower! Ride is very close to stock.

sakai73 -

The car looks amazing! I've got the same care on order and had one question.

Im assuming those are the stock rims just chrome dipped -- If you dont mind me asking, what did it run you to have them dipped ?

mallard- I have the airmatic system. TWS re-adjusted my sensors in the back and added a bracket in the front for $325. From what I've read in the forum this can be done on your own.

Nrealm- I bought the car with the rims already chromed. Actually, I prefer silver rims on a silver car. I only care for chrome rims on a black car. But thanks for the compliment. and yes, these are the stock rims that come with the sport package.

Hi,

Be sure to bring back to regular height before service your E class. Dropping the height will void your warranty...

BTW, what is V1??

rusnakmb- from my understanding only the suspension warranty 'if any' will be void. also, is the warranty voided for those who receive a drop by the dealership? can anyone clarify?

Hi,

The airmatic can be drop by software. Once if you enter to MB service and if they found out that you have play around with the sensor.... your airmatic warranty just void.....

The drop is done by adjusting the sensor...... E class is semi airmatic, which S class is full airmatic.... that is why E was not as comfort as S.....

Just word of advice...... just bring the height back before any suspension service..

the warranty is only void if the aftermarket piece causes the malfunction in the first place.

There you go.

If you have alter the height sensor, the warranty void. If you dare to bring your dropped E class to any MB service center for airmatic check up..... If will void your warranty just like that...
