By any chance did you recently change the rear rims and tires size on your car?

no, I didn't change any tires on my car.
from few weeks I have the Battery on red also, but just when it's very cold outside. when I keep the car in garage the battery is not in red.
I change the battery (the big one) and the battery stil red when the car is outside. I don't know if |I have to change the small one? I bought the car 4 years ago, I drive more then 100.000Km without anything major to repair.

I have the same car and year as yours, I asked about the tire size because a few months ago I replaced the rims and tires on my car and I bought the wrong size tires, as soon as I left the tire shop my esp an Abs light came on, so I installed the correct size tires then cleared codes and all worked well,

Maybe you should check the voltage on your small battery

Good luck

You don't have to have the engine on. You connect a voltage tester to the battery and it will tell you how many bolts it has. If you don't have one you can buy one at any auto store for about $20. Actually most auto parts will test the battery for you for free.

Upps sorry. Between 12 and 13

But also remember when you test the battery it might read 12 volts but when you put load on it it might drop the voltage. So best bet is to take the car to a shop and have them load test the battery before you go and spend money on a brand new battery.

Don't guess at it. There's so much it could be. You need a scan. It could be anything from a steering angle sensor, to wheel speed sensor, to as simple as a stop lamp switch. Got tail lights when you step on the brake? It's highly unlikely to be that battery.

P0500 is a partial message. The P0500 means either a 20CA (the left rear wheel speed sensor isn't sending a signal) or a 20CB (the left front wheel speed sensor isn't sending a signal). If it's not the tires, a shot of compressed air and possibly some brake cleaner may used to clean the left side wheel sensors. I'd wear a mask.

The voltage on my battery is 11.2, date on the top of the battery is 0311,so the small battery is from... 2003, original battery on my car , I change thebattery (the small one) but nothing change on the dash, ABS, ESP light is on,also the ABS yellow light is on, and the check engine on (code P0500). I call the dealer Mercedes Brossard they told me it's take al minimum 2 hoursto verify the problem, it's the first time when I call Mercedes Brossard (southshore of Montréal) before I fix my car on Mercedes Blainville (north shore of Montréal,very good service there), finally I will be at my old dealer maybe on Friday tofix the problem

Repair center in S Montreal---are you serious----find a good baker, he knows how to fix that!!

PS---If you look up at the board you will find a post with answers to the P0500 question(Front R or L wheel speed sensor faulty)

If you cleaned both sensors. I would try disconnecting the negative on your battery for 30 secs, maybe resetting the comp will turn the abs and esp malfunction light off

If that dose not work I would take it to a shop and have it connected to a computer so they can clear your codes. Last year I installed wrong size tires on my car and as soon as I drove out if the tire shop my abs and esp light came on. I drove back to the shop immediately and they switched the tires with the correct ones after that they had to Connect my car to a computer to clear the abs and esp codes

Your welcome.
Well it was worth a try, guess your going to have to have the car connected to a comp, they will be able to clear those codes.
Post the results
Good luck !
