AMG wheel options for non-AMG W211

I've owned this non-sport E550 for three months and since day one have wanted lose the 'flower pedal' 17" wheel.

I really like the split five spoke 18" W211 AMG wheels. I have a few questions:

1) Was there more than one version of the W211 split spoke?

2) Is there any reason I can't run the AMG "fronts" on the rear as well (I had the dual width rims on a prior AMG and I would prefer to go with the same wheel/tire at all four corners)?

3) Was the w211 AMG wheel shared with other chassis?

Thanks

Are you lookin for OEM AMG wheels only? Aftermarket has a ton more split 5 spoke options that might be worth considering. It's perfectly fine to run front wheels on the rears as well. I run w212 OEM AMG front wheels all around. I know the w212 amg wheels are shared with the CLS but use different offsets. Not too sure about the 211s.

Yes, OEM is my first choice - by far.

I figured the fronts would fit on the rear but thought it safer to ask than assume. Thanks for the reply!

Hadn't thought of the W211s - I'll have to look at some pictures.

I bought this set for around $750 a long time ago. If you're interested, you can have it for around $450 ish since you're local. 2 wheels are still brand new unused, the other 2 have a little bit of minor curb rash. They're 19x8.5 all around.

Beautiful wheels. Great price and local too!

But I'd prefer OEM and 18".

2008 E350
John,

I just recently had to replace my wheels due to three OEM AMG wheels developing cracks. I have never hit anything. I have heard this can be cause by being out of balence but my E350 goes to the dealer for ALL service and they never informed me of a out of balnce wheel, let alone three.

Just a thought. They are expensive and the cracking seems to be common.

I am not sure if they can be fixed but I still have them in my garage and replaced them with some off brand for $1000.

Lemon nice wheels, I wish I would have seen this before I purchased mine online.

Replaced them with 4 front OEM AMG wheels from the 2010-2013 E63s. Searched high and low for them one by one and one at a time since no replica's were available at the time. Ended up saving a lot of money too compared to other forged aluminum wheels.
