Sirius Radio Locked Up Yet Again
Took the car out this morning and received a Channel Update from Serius followed by a lock up of the satellite Radio receiver... Displays NO SAT/ No Subscription.
Of course I have a subscription. Once again Sirius sent a signal to make all channels available for free without respecting my receiver's "Protected Tier Status" not to get ALL 160+ channels because our radios can't handle more than 140 channels, and if they're made available the radio locks up on the last channel played with no ability to change the display or channel.
This had better not have bricked my receiver requiring me to pay for a new receiver or I will be furious with everyone.
Sirius says, they're working on a fix...

While I have never had XM in the E class, I had a XM module on my ML and they screwed me on the lifetime subscription I had. I closed my account and will never go back. Does not surprise me that this is an issue. Please keep us informed on the progress of their "update".

Radio got unlocked again first thing this morning with a proper "Protected Tier" Channel Update signal and is working properly.

I'm seriously thinking of subscribing to Spotify; my ipod music is like a generation behind and Sirus is getting boring. I can create playlists at home, download to the ipod then enjoy listening in the car.

Yup, that's what happens. When they open the gates to free listening of over 160 channels to our old receivers that were designed to handle 140 channels, the receiver doesn't know what to do with all that data so it gags and freezes.
