So I have an 03 E500 pretty much stock still owe payments on it, and idk if I want to mod it and spend the money or just leave it stock and get an E55 later, but later as in like 2 years haha, so in all my initial question is..........

Mod or don't mod......... That is the question(btw if I decided to mod first thing on the list is swap out suspension to coilovers)

Thanks guys!

that is really up to you and your priorities. if youve got SPARE money, mod away! if you reckon you can use the money for the 55 later on, save it.

its your money, your priorities...been there, done that. i spent a lot on mods but all the while thinking of getting an AMG, now after everything ive done to my car. i dont think i want to let go of it...just yet. its a one of and it gives me a sense of pride every time i look at it.

True but every time I go to purchase something for my car I tell myself "why spend the money when I can use it later for the 55" but it's this damn itch I have to mod...... It's gotten to a point where I'm thinking of building a bike just to hold off on modding my w211 cuz I want an AMG later...... Tough decision

i'd say do cosmetic mods and then when u r ready to swap to 55, then part out mods u can't transfer to 55...

Yeah I was thinking of some wheels, but that's pretty much all I can think of, if when i get the 55 I don't plan on doing a facelift I really love the curvature and flow of the 55 body so that's out of the question

Sorry got a bit busy replacing my heater control valve, yeah I spoke to my mechanic at my local Indy shop he said he'd do the coilovers for a total of $1500, so I think before rims I'll do that and he said my airmatic system is clean and pretty much new, I guess the guy who had the car before me replaced all 4 in January so once those come off they will be up for sale!

1. Coilovers
2. Rims
3. Sprint booster
4. Some chipotle (:

I would start with mods that transfer to an E55 - probably wheels/tires.

I think getting a tune rather than sprint booster is more bang for the buck - OE tuning and Eurocharged are well respected and both have tunes that adds ~30 HP and ~30 lb/ft in addition to making the throttle more responsive.

I would seriously reconsider the coil-overs if the airmatic is working fine; especially if it has 4 new airmatic shocks. It's a good system (when it works) and I think you'll loose money installing and at re-sale.

airmatic is nice and all but honestly, i feel like im driving a pontoon boat im really leaning on doing the coilovers just bcuz i drive my car like its a race car, then maybe the tune you suggested(link for tune?) then wheels
